Tank Update

I recently picked up a Coral Beauty Angel and currently have it in QT. With that being said, and after a conversation with a local guy; I decided to rescape my tank to create more fluid swim space for him and to create more space for higher light corals. I went from a shelf like scape to a twin pillar look.

Corals are all recoperating from the change, but all look to be fine.

Comments, concerns, or ideas? All are greatly appreciated!

Looking good! Do you know what your alkalinity is? What are you using to test Nitrate and Phosphate?

All was at ~13, I did a water change after testing though so I’m sure it’s come back down. I’m using Salifert tests

Yeah that's a little higher than most prefer to run these days. Are you using red sea coral pro or instant ocean reef crystals? Or dosing alk?

I would get a little nervous with absolutely zero N03 and Po4. I suggest the hanna ulr phosphorus checker to maintain phosphate around .03 ppm and nitrate around 2-5 ppm. Corals need some nutrients and it's a little tougher to balance when those to parameters are legitimately 0.

I’m positive they aren’t 0, I’m growing chaeto in the sump, that does seem to keep everything very low but it hasn’t started dying off so I know it has SOME nutrients haha.
Rechecked Alk today it’s back to 9.6.
I’m using instant ocean Reef. I’m not sure where the alk boost came from haha.

Aprox - 19”x12”x12”
I plan on upping to a 30 long in the near furture.
