And the ich wasnt just a couple dots it looked like they dipped the nasos nose in cocaine or sugar. Very sad because alot of tangs are in there including Achilles and clown tangs.:cry_002:

I missed the first episode, forgot that it was coming on. From reading the posts the reviews for the show and ethics of reef keeping is not all that great?

Finally, a show dedicated to showing the masses what a good cup of skimmate nog looks and smells like, monster size calcium reactor building, why mantis shrimp are great pets, why we all have to build our own LED fixtures, what makes a good skimmer pump, how to bond acrylic, which side of starphire glass faces out to prevent chipping, carbon dosing methods, why you need a R/O for proper salt water mixing, where to get the best live rock, how to make aragacrete, how to propigate acans, what algae scrapers are better than others, how to buy a good clam, why hermit crabs suck, why bumblebee snails aren't reef safe, how to frag staghorns, how to ID stony corals, cool fairy wrasse 101, and why tangs dont go in nano-reefs.

Wait, its not any of that?!?! what the heck?!?!

Seriously, good luck guys. You know what planarian worms and red bugs are, right?

I got my hopes up with this show and have been greatly dissappointed. I feel like I was misled by the previews as to what this show really is. What not to do and how the super rich spend their money on tanks. How did that qt setup cost $30k? I call bs on that.

Another thing beyond the tap water...the water had to have fresh mixed salt....that burns livestock...just seems that everything we wait on for at least a month before adding livestock...and these tanks are tossed together in a day...with very expensive fish...I don't know...maybe I'm missing something...would have been nice to see a real reef tank though...not really down with acrylic decor...

These are fish only tanks guys....what's the issue here? Tap water is just fine. Dechlorinate and buffer PH done. Treat fish with meds for parasites and they should do just fine in these huge setups. I'm sure there is a method to their madness. Again they don't install and contract huge tanks because they are unsuccessful

If you looked closely in the mob tank some of the nasos had ich on entry to the tank :(
I didn't saw it. I stopped watching the program after NY theme tank tragedy. Most of those fish are going to die for sure! We should boycott these kind of business.

You have no idea, it was horrible!

I wish I could hand pick livestock...I mean I'm not knocking all of it...the phone booth was cool..the qt system was nice...yeah I don't see the $30,000...and why LEDs on a qt....

You have not idea!

I just checked and it will be on again tonight at midnight. I was looking forward to watching the show. I feel the problem is that hobbyist and most vendors have a passion for reef keeping and the health or all of our livestock and many of these businesses see it as that, just a business that pays the bills.

Just a thought. We didnt see most of the build. We never saw the actual filtration or them even adding salt. What magical steps are they leaving out?

++++++ 1 this is no different than the info we get from the local fish store

I wish it was more informative , explaining why they do what they do.
And to the phone booth....5 something yellow tangs In a tank that's probably 20w20L80"high is terrible. Also with squirrelfish , butterflies , about 20 chromis and 30 damsels.

The show has a" pimp my ride show " kind of feel to it which is not
A good thing because that means they are doing things just to be cool and flashy and not for the love of the hobby.

Rant over:choler:

This is still a family friendly site and some of the comments about women are unacceptable.

I've got to say I was pretty disappointed too :confuse: I didn't really like the overstocking of the tanks and they kept constantly taking those fish out of water! Also seems they are unprofessional and I wouldn't really want them to install anything in my house with the way they act. I mean they really didn't plan out that QT system did they? They had to hack the wall to fit it! A couple of measurements would have helped them out... Not sure if I will make an effort to watch next week. :beat_brick:

You all need to relax a bit. It is called a show for a reason. You really think people will tune in to see the guys add a raw piece of shrimp to start the ever so exciting cycle? LOL! There are a lot of things you don't see behind the scenes and a lot of things that are for show.
