I thought it was entertaining but ran through kinda fast. It seemed very commercialized and not very much into the knowledge and nitty gritty of the hobby. Not sure if that is their objective, but probably not.
Would be nice if they walked through basic components of a system and explained the importance. Well, just lightly cover because it could take a few episodes to be thorough enough to cover everything.

lol I think that we as hobbyists would like to hear everything about the tanks and inhabitants. but alot of people such as kids and people not familiar with the hobby probably wouldn't stay tuned through all the informational parts. I think they kept it nice and simple, but at the same time I didn't like the extra drama.

but who knows you see how all the new shows such as storage wars and auction hunters have their rival tv shows. so maybe NAT geo will come out with a more informational series...

You have to remember this show is for entertainment not education. I sure it will be entertaining as they are quite a cast of characters, and they build some awesome aquariums and acrylic projects.

its more of a tru tv show. i was hoping they where going to do the shark tank! the car tank was lame and was not the kind of car you want in a shop like that.

I liked the show and I love seeing all these amazing tanks. I am sure the sumps on these systems had established live rock etc. As I doubt that these guys got where they are today by stocking tanks without any knowledge of how bio filtration works. I would like to see a bit more detail during the build process but again, I don't think the show is intentionally aimed at us hobbyists.

Fwiw those tanks were prolly running for months before they added anything the videos are obviously edited etc.... I personally know Jackie who is there retail sales manager and she is more educated about the hobby then anyone I know or have ever seen post on any board.... She can perform autopsies on fish etc to find the cause of death so it's safe to say they know what there doing...;)

no doubt, I'm for sure watching the next episode. Hands down I just like seeing those amazing looking tanks and kinda gives me ideas.. at least that's what my wife said when we watched it "getting ideas huh"

I am really glad they did this. The Show was great at showing off the aquariums that these guys have done. They are definitively thinking outside the box and just because they have employees that work does not mean these guys cant do it. At least these guys are out there really CREATING JOBS. I loved the fact that these guys are creating jobs that push the envelope on the design of new aquariums. With the right tools it is amazing what you can do with acrylic. I am impressed that they have survived in Las Vegas. Just stands as evidence that they are savy and intelligent business men as well as advanced and knowledgeable aquarists.
I cant wait until people start coming into the store asking about their own CUSTOM aquariums.......


Just another great way to bring our passion and present it in front of a larger audience.

I like the show, but I would love to see some of the manufacture of the tanks. Especially since I love DIYing. As for putting the fish in the quarantine system for me they could have mentioned about the cycling and measures that were taken before hand. This would have not left the impression they set it up and then just put the fish in the system. We as educated aquarists understand this but newbies won't. Waiting for the next episode on the 19th and if you missed this episode it will play again after the premiere on the 19th.
