TBS hitchhikers: after 7 months an octopus introduced himself

Constantly amazed at the diversity of critters who hitched a ride on just 8 pounds of TBS rock, including this octopus -- an Atlantic Pygmy?

Forgive the video quality -- I didn't have time to handle reflections and didn't want to miss the chance to get him on video.

TBS delivered the rock on June 20 and this was the first time I met Fred the Octo. You can kind of tell in this video that Fred is winding down, and he passed away about 3 minutes after this video ends. :(

I hope Fred had a good life for the 7 months he was in the tank.

Oh dang. He was so cute. That's a really sad video. I hate seeing something go down. Is that common to find a pygmy octopus in live rock. One day when I learn more I think I want one.
