TDB320reef, any advise for us mortals? How do we get to Reefing nirvana the way you did?

awesome are you using bio pellets or vinger dosing?or gfo?

Hi Thanks, I use a very small amount of biopellets. like 250 ML and is enough with a large tank. Time to time all also drop a half cup of GFO in a filter bag near the skimmer for a day or two.

Just keep it simple and enjoy your self. Good lighting, pest prevention and great water quality and you will be successful!

It is a fowleri tang beautiful fish. They get 20 inches so need a huge tank!

Tdb you ever deal with cyano outbreak in your reef?

I am sure I have had cyano over the years but has never really been a problem as I run my phosphates very low.

That is a gorgeous fish! You probably have to have great water parameters for it to have beautiful coloring like that

They are great fish but they grow so fast
I had one and felt bad for it in my 300 gallon
So I had to find her a new home

I came across this thread and I'm literally in the process of having the same size tank built. It will also be mostly sps dominated however I do plan to have some Lps and Zoas lower in the tank. I noticed you eventually took out the sand. This is one of the things I'm debating on whether or not I should have a sand bed in my new setup. My current tank has one. Having both systems what are your thoughts regarding a sand bed? Also if you could have any do overs with your recent build what they be?

No Sand Bed, No Do overs.

Can you explain why having sand in a sps tank is not recommended.
