I usually keep mine at 26 degrees Celsius (not sure on the Fahrenheit conversion sorry) but during this nasty heat wave it's been sitting between 30 and 33 :(

It seems to be :)
A few weeks ago, just before Christmas we had a small heat wave where my tank peaked out at 31 and my puffer went into temperature shock, but is coping this time around.
I have a decent sized cynarina that hasn't opened up yet, but everything else seems ok luckily.

I was told by someone who has been in this Hobby for a long time to keep it Cold (70 to 72) and Corals will be best.

He told me that the water in Australia is not 80 Degrees therefore you should not have your Aquarium that High.

Is there any Truth to this?

If so why do most people hover around 80 for Temperature?

78-80 is cheap and easy. 70-72 is very expensive. I have been told that there are certain corals that just die a slow death above 74-75. I bridge the gap at 75. My clown anemone tank is at 71 though and could never be happier.
