I keep my tank at 77-78.3... i just got a chiller and im still playing with the settings, im really hoping to keep it in the 77-77.9 range.

78.5-79.0 for me and my apex. It may be wrong, but I get an email if it goes .5 degrees above or below. If I get an email I know either my heater quit or my AC quit and to get my butt home to investigate.

I can see certain areas of the reefs to fluctuate during the day. As for example lagoons, they don't get as much of that deeper water tide as for say a crest. They may sit and bake in the sun raising the water temp by a few degrees before the high tide comes in with deeper cooler water.
