Never bought anything, or heard of them before you posted. 🧐

Quick search on here doesn't find John Gordon or Terra Reef? (Not a sponsor, at least yet?)

Sponsor isn't a make or break in my opinion. I would wager sponsor on platforms costs money but none of my business really :D

To the OP's question. I purchased two corals. Blue Tip Acropora and a TerraReef Weedy Acropora (possibly Scripps Acropora). They arrived very well packaged and visible growth on the frag plug. Both established and healthy. Not a freshly cut, and glued, frag - or to order if that makes sense.

I exchanged emails with Jon as I was looking for something specific in growth patterns. Jon is great to talk to and asked a bit about my display. I shared him some details, why I do what I do with my system, and then placed an order. Upon arrival much to my surprise was 4 frags, not 2 that I ordered. Unexpected. I reached out and basically when I let Jon know I run high nutrients he added a second set of corals, the same, that are in a system with slightly higher nutrients. Still not to my levels but he felt worth sending a second set in case there was a challenge in acclimation. I thought that was very nice of him but also unnecessary.

I should note that upon arrival I did a quick dip using Coral Rx, rinse in saltwater, then placed in my display. This is about 2 weeks after going through some light acclimation. The top image on the lower left edge on the frag plug has a small vermetid snail. This is from my system, not Jon's. I have them in my display. I just reach in, grab the frag, and scrape it off. You will also notice a baby strombus snail - they love working on frag plugs. I get a lot of eggs on them.

The corals are doing very well - no complaints. I should note that the Scripps Acropora is a very fast grower. Weedy is a good name for it.

I highly recommend ordering from Terra Reef. The corals all came in healthy and grew fast. Here are a couple photos. The candy cane I have had for 18 months and hosts the Clownfish. The Elkhorn montipora for 6 months.
