For the overflow, there are four holes. Two 1.5" and two 1". I am thinking using the two 1.5" for a Herbie overflow, and the two 1", reduced down to 3/4" for returns.

Thoughts?

On the advice of a YouTube comment, I added braces under the back corner of the tank.

Bulkheads are installed. Tank is clean, and the broken eurobrace is removed. Waiting on the new glass (which should be any day now) and I can get that installed.

I'd like to water test the tank again now that it is in the basement.

What is your plan for this tank? Same as the 180?

I think I will start FOWLER, but with lighting capable of handling coral down the road. I'd like to keep some of the larger Angels etc. what I cannot keep in the 180. It will be tied into the same system.

Tank is clearing up. I am not sure I love the scape. I just threw the rocks in there, I'm sure I will play with it a bit.

All the plumbing is connected, no leaks. Everything works as it should.

The Alk in the new tank is sitting at about 10 (8 in the main tank) so I'll let it drop a bit before I open the valves and let the two tanks mix.

I would love to see a update on how the 400g is plumbed to the system ;)

I will try to shoot a video tonight. It will be easier to walk through everything than taking pictures.

Sorry about your finger! Hope it's healing well. Tank is looking good!

Thank you. Finger is healed. There is a scar, and it's a bit sensitive to the touch, my guitar playing career is probably over.

Sounds good Terry , I am a huge fan of both your tanks ;) what type of lighting are you going to use to light up the 400g ? Sorry if you already stated this .

That is a great question, that I do not at this point have an answer to.

I am thinking a pair of AI Hydra 52 HDs, which I know isn't a lot of light for an 8 foot tank, but there are really only two rock structures, as the tank is very wide open (as it will stay) so I really only need to light those intensely. I am open to suggestions.

I got crazy tonight an opened the valves to connect the two tanks. Everything is working fine. Adjusting the Herbie overflow is about of a pain with a crappy ball valve. But everything is working. I did a power outage test, because the lowest sump is only a 40 breeder, and I know have four tanks dumping into it. But it worked. I drilled siphon stop holes in my return pipes near the surface, so the siphon breaks pretty quickly.
