Test parameters weird

I would guess the kit is the issue. I have never gotten consistent results from the Red Sea Mg Pro kit. I liked their nitrate kit but their Mg tests are hogwash.

I've given it several chances and has always failed me. I tried new reagents and new kit all together. I always get very inconsistent results and usually much lower. For example my last attempt at giving it a try I got 1100 from RedSea Mg Pro where as I got 1485 from my Salifert kit, Triton result came back as 1500, and AWT tested as 1501.

I was noticing a few things you guys are mentioning as well. My test glass probably does need cleaned, seems there is some reidue in there. I do rinse them before each test though.

I try to fill the syringe, empty, then refill. I have had inconsistent fills before as well.

The test kits themselves are around a year old, I was searching for the expiration date last night. Salt is a new bucket, I rolled and shook it before breaking the seal on it.

Maybe it is time for new or different kits all together.
