I like to brine mine for 48hrs. Lots of salt, pepper corns, full head of garlic cut in half, bay leaves, a lil stick of cinnomon orange peel and orange juice, soy sauce, cloves and brown sugar worshire sauce too. Then fried of course. Comes out fantastic.

I am disappointed, really
cast iron skillet in oven at 425, pre heated
cornbread recipe whatever you use
1/8 cup bacon grease
pull skilled and add bacon grease and cornbread recipe and place back in over and turn down the heat to 400 and bake.

venezuelan style , add fried onions and quesso blanco in the corn bread mix. Oh daddy this is good;)
I've never done it with fried onions but always with what you've listed above

Everything is better left over. By the way, how old is your Boston in your avatar?
