Hi All

Alway see people sharing their builds on here so wanted to join the party now thats mine in a somewhat presentable state lol.

Background

Tank was custom made shortly after buying my forever home and when I first started my whole home remodel project. Knew I wanted to do something not only big, but stood out and would be a main focal point. What better way to achieve then to build a 360 degree tank smack dead center in the house lol. Unfortunately was forced to set this the tank up prematurely which has slowed both its progress and my remodel, but hey… slow and steady wins the race right. Look forward to continue to shares as both house and tank progress

Tank specs

Size - 360g

Length - 10ft L x 2.5ft W x 2ft H

Custom made 100 gallon sump I designed and had made. It is actually two independent sumps in one

Custom made floor pan for leak control.

About 380 lb of dry rock. Thank you FB market lol.

Yes smack dab in the center of the house lol. Protruding into what will eventually be the dinning room with the picture frame side over looking a future game room/ wet bar area. House is technically a rancher and there is pretty much not one room on the lower level outside the bedrooms them self where some portion of it is not visable 😁

A small preview into the active project this evening. Unfortunately would seem I forgot to grab one critical fitting earlier so late night piping just hit a snag :( so posting now instead haha. HD and Lowe’s should really be 24/7 stores especially given they are nothing but self checkouts lol. Until tomorrow now.

Project - Swapping an aqua uv 57w with a more powerful model. Unfortunately given space the 160w 4 banger unit was too long to fit my space. So making a stubbier model using 2-114w units.

To be continued…

The nuclear reactor is back up and running. (Queue the rave music) Definitely was a fun and interesting pipe now that space is becoming increasing limited. Now it’s a waiting game to see if there are any notable improvement lol

Bump for update.
Thank for interest. Not much new to report at this time as nothing has changed since the uv addition other then my custom AFS build found below, which is also still being fine tuned. But I will be setting up a large scale ATO in the coming weeks as I have officially grown tired of adding 5 gallon of water manually to it every day for the last 2 years lol

That's a ton of water to add! That ATO is going to make things MUCH easier. Looking forward to seeing it.

Whoa. Amazing setup and that’s a tight fit! How do you get the algae scrubber screen out?
Thank. There is just enough room to slide the holder out when I’m lazy. By typicallyI remove the whole scrubber and wipe down the inside when I clean the mesh. The scrubber is plumbed with a union on both the intake and exhaust side. Can’t tell by the photo but the bottom union is also plumbed just high enough that is sits over the water level of my final chamber and has a ball valve that can be closed. This allows it to be separated without any water flowing out from the sump.
