My name is John and I have been reefing for about 7 years and my current set up 180 gallon all glass reef tank with dual overflows. This tank take the place of a 75 gallon I had set up for 6 years. I built this into the wall in my basement which took the place of a closet.
Here are a couple of pics: of the built:

Building of the 180

I carefully plan out the construction of the built and used 2x6 and 4x4 post to secure the weight of the tank. The process took some time but I did not want to rush the project.
I order the Hamilton 6 foot unit with 3 250watt metal halide 14k bulbs and 4 96watt power compact actinic 03 and moon lights. I did not realized that their were so many transformers.

I decided to built my own sump and I look on many sites for ideas but the place that help me out was Melevsreef.com. I bought th acyclic from a local hardware store and purchased the weld-on on line. The sump is 48x15x15 and the fuge is 12x15. Here are some pics:

The 180 is a all glass tank with dual overflows which I purchased for a LFS. He was closing one section of the store and had to get rid of all the display tanks so I received a real good deal. I panted the back of the tank black and here are some pics:

When I finish the sump I tested it out with water and made sure there were no leaks. I had a couple of leaks but was able to fix them. Not bad for the first time working with acyclic.

I also finished trimming out the tank just waiting for the doors I had to order them.

I am ready to put the tank in the wall and needed the help of my sons friends. It took four of us to set the tank in the wall.
Here is a summary of the the tank:

All glass tank with dual overflows 72x24x24

DIY acyclic sump with fuge 48x15x15

Main pump Little Giant external 1234gph

Cora-life Super Skimmer Model 33004 rated for 220 gallon

Hamilton light fixture 3 250watt metal halide 14k bulbs 4 96watt power compact actinic with moon lights(with 2 inch fans built in the fixture)

I used a RO/DI unit for Air,Water & Ice model Typhoon III with built in gauges and TDS meter with a auto refill
