We do but not often as you can imagine.

We don't get them often here either, I was on the waitlist so long I forgot I was on the waitlist, had to been over a year or two.

I say go for it, every time I’ve seen one they’re seemingly more reefsafe than other butterflies (similar to CBBs I find as they’re not around too much coral).

Oh I bought it already, like immediately before I even had a chance to think of where to put it. That’s a pic of it in my conditioning tank. It’s eating but not out of the water column at this point. I think they do well with coral just unsure if it will be able to compete with the other fish for food. May have to see if I can get it to eat out of a feeder reliably.

Wrasse and angel wise, I find butterflies compete really well.

Tang and large fish like them I find will easily outcompete any shy fish, including wrasses.

I have a yellow tang, the only tang. He hasn’t caused any issue so far (been with me a few years). He’s very very shy though. Like you walk up to the tank and the tang is in the rocks.

This butterfly seems a lot shyer than a copperband (so far). It is very “fresh” though, directly from the diver.

Any help with a new yellow long nose that won't eat?

Our previous yellow long nose ate from day 1, and was an aggressive eater that even ate flakes and pellets.

We got a larger new one 1 week ago , and after 2 days, it ate frozen mysis. It has since stopped and just actively swims away from any food. It's absolutely maddening.

Parameters are good, and the fish looks healthy. It just won't eat.

We live in a small town so no fresh clams or black worms. It wouldn't even touch the clams on half shell which our previous one went nuts for.

We didn't Qt this one as they were delayed in shipment and I was very nervous for it, so I wanted to get it in our reef with things to pick at.

The foxface (as usual) let it know it's the boss, and our majestic angel just flares up at it occasionally. Nothing major. It swims about the tank and sometimes hides in the corner, but I'm worried about it not eating now.

The previous yellow we had stayed in the top corner for nearly 2 weeks because of our foxface, but it still ate from day 1.

Biota has released captive bred Raccoons. I wonder if anyone has one and if anyone does, was it easy to get it feeding and what does it eat?

Any luck? For the future I would recommend culturing live white worms to have on hand. They are so amazing to feed all your fish but will entice many butterlyfish to eat.

I didn’t know raccoons had been bred yet.

Still wanting a potters angel but man their price is steep.

@i cant think Yeah I can imagine being in the UK a CB Potter’s only costing more. Raccoons were bred by the same place that gave us captive bred Yellow Tangs and the Potter’s (Oceanic Institute of the Uni of Hawaii). But I do know that MERS in France breeds Coral Beauties, African Flamebacks, Eibli and Spotbreast (Swallowtail) Angels as of now.

Been in my tank for +2 years, eating all kind of frozen food (copperband didn't touched frozen the first year or so) and never picked on my corals :)

the Pyramid Butterflyfish...wow!! I did not know they get blue bodies. Amazing, it's on my list. Where did you get yours? I've heard they eat pulsing Xenia, can you confirm? I have Xenia that I want to eradicate.

i have a copper band thats been in the tank for a month. Any suggestions on how to get them to eat mysis/brine? Mine only eats clams lol
