Tenuis is my fav coral. I have a few millies, at least ideas told they were when I bought them. My question is how can I tell the difference between a millie and a tenuis ?

Millepora have a very perfectly rounded C shaped corallite. Tenuis corallite have a small dip or point in the lip. Millepora also tend to have polyps with a long “center” polyp while the rest are all a shorter size and often even a different color.

Examples.

Walt Disney tenuis. See how the corallites have a small dip? Also see how the polyps are all even length?

Sunrise Millepora example. See how the corallites are a perfect C and the polyps each have that one long one in the middle?
