The fish and mirror trick really worked!

Have you heard the one where you play a video of a clownfish hosting to get it to host your anemone? I hear it works.

Well I've done both the clownfish/anemone picture thing and the mirrors for aggressive fish.

For the clown fish, I taped an electronic picture frame on the tank that had maybe ten still shot pictures of anemones with clown fish and after a couple weeks, my female first found the anemone. The amusing part was watching the female to get the male over to the anemone.......follow me, follow me!

With the aggressive fish, I had a yellow tang picking on my long nose yellow butterfly. What happened was that the yellow tang would just swim by the mirror but the long nose would see it's image and immediately go into a defensive posture with raised dorsal spikes. It was amusing. Here is the long nose staring at his image in the handheld mirror

I have a small captive bred ocellaris clown and no nems. I’ve had him for months and he has shown no interest in anything until a few days ago. He’s started to hang out sometimes in my big alveopora. Luckily the coral doesn’t seem to mind and he only goes in it a few times a day. It does make me smile when he does though.
