Okay, my longest yet...

Oh no! I was also dosing Fuel during that period, if that helps at all. When researching the Goni I found out that Manganese is an important trace element for euphyllia, which is contained in Fuel.
Started dosing Fuel and my torches are doing so much better!
Soooo, major buzz killer, I've been on the phone with my former employees off and on for the past few hours and it has been brought to my attention that they weren't taken very good care of after I left. Most were left to fend for themselves. I'm feeling very heartbroken for them. Not only were they my employees, they were my friends/family, i feel responsible for where they are now...they say they're ok, but you can hear in their voice they aren't where they want to be. Its heart breaking.
So sorry to hear this..It’s a shame there aren’t more people that have a heart like yours. The world would be a better place.
Sorry to hear. Unfortunately, loss is part of this hobby. There isn't a reefer out there that hasn't been where you are now. Personally, I have never had good luck with those fish and have avoided them since I lost a mated pair that seemed fine one day and gone the next. I never did know what happened to them. The tank was full of healthy fish and corals, yet they perished without any apparent cause. Don't give up because of this setback. You are obviously passionate about the hobby and there will be many good days ahead.
So far, so good. The blue spot made two “homes” in the front left and right corner of the tank. The pearly uses one & he uses the other.
@Dolelo96 please don't beat yourself up. It happens. It's easier to do than ya think. I once killed an entire tank. Big hug!
Thank you! I know it was an accident. Seeing the little one still in the net..
Anyone know how to remove the batteries from an engineer goby?! ;)

I had a witty comeback for this, but it it took me so long to get caught up..I forgot :p
Anybody else use water from water changes to control weeds
Explain please
I hit another benchmark today. The first water change since dealing with the dinos2. So far so good with the focus on building up the microfuana; live phyto, pods and bacteria and a big clean up crew.

I have 9 zoa frags what do you think if I used the left rock with the carpet nem for a zoa garden?

Also,
Right now I also have a red cap monti , a frozen gonipora, a JF Sector 001 Favites and a green birdnest. The kenya tree is, well, you can see where it is (no plug, the plug fell off so I dropped it in a hole in that rock and its liked it there). There is a GSP rock in the front right.

I'd like to add a frogspawn and a duncun as wells as some easy sps sticks to go with the birds nest.

How would you plan out the coral placement?

Would you put the red cap midway on the right? Would you add purple and green cap montis with it?

It's a 29gal tank btw.
Looks awesome!
I can't find lrs either so I had to make my own food. Oysters, clams, mussels, squid, octopus, shrimp, fish eggs, freeze dried plankton, and a sw white fish. (Octopus needs to be cut into small chunks first. It will bind the blender or food processor) Blend to desired consistency. Veggies are feed separate.
Do you add any vitamin/supplements to this?
Final coat of black went on a little bit ago...4 more hrs before I can clear it, so will happen in the morning...then will have to air out for a day or so before coming inside...so I'd say at the earliest it'll be Tuesday night before I bring it in and put tank on it. ;Meh

It looks amazing! I’m looking forward to seeing it with the tank in place:)
referring to frogspawn and duncan
I haven’t had problems with my duncan, but my frogspawn is in the back corner of the tank. He did some damage to neighboring corals before I moved him.
Plus they mate and then tear the head off of their male suitor! :)
It’s not just the insects you have to worry about...;)

Wife's birthday today

Happy Birthday to your wife!
Yep, just spent $200 this morning...and didnt come home with much at all. Got steaks for my bday dinner tonight, bday is Tuesday ;Smuggrin, $18.99/lb , I'm used to them being at most 11.99/lb. Of course I partially blame it on living in a tourist town, which is now FULL of vacationers ;Shifty
Happy Belated Birthday!
It is ironic that I posted this today. We lost her brother, Saber, a few hours ago. He had a multitude of health issues at 13 years of age. His time of suffering has ended. Sail on to my buddy.

I’m so sorry! I’m glad you got to have one more walk...
Thanks! It was a quiet day today. It rained all day so a good day to chill, watching the tank inhabitants go about their lives, and not much else, except for making a white chicken chili for dinner.
Friday I took the afternoon off and went sailing for the first time this season. So good to be back on the water again! Then yesterday our good friends came over for happy hour and pizza. My buddy and I opened the bottle of Blantons I got for my birthday and smoked cigars. The bourbon didn’t stand a chance. 3 hours and it was empty! Lol.

Great birthday weekend!
We love Blantons. Never killed a bottle in one sitting;Woot
Good morning from Venice Beach, FL. 24 years married today, my wife encourages me to fish all day.

Tonight she and I are collecting tankmates... wish me luck!
Happy Belated Anniversary!
I am kinda glad this old bar didn’t get put on the street for trash. Liking the grain on this almost 40 year old bar. Still can’t decide how to finish it though. I was originally going to paint it, but now leaning to stain and Spar Varnish. It will be partially exposed to the elements.

Explain please
Although killing weeds with salt may seem strange, it is effective when used cautiously. Salt is inexpensive and readily available. Salt dehydrates plants and disrupts the internal water balance of plant cells.

Read more at Gardening Know How: Salt Recipe For Weeds – How To Use Salt To Kill Weeds https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/special/organic/using-salt-to-kill-weeds.htm

I dump 10-15 gallons in an area. I'm trying to go scorch earth in an area.

I just ordered a sample of the topical 2 days ago.
Let me know how it works. I have carpal tunnel (already had surgery once), arthritis and now “trigger thumb..all in the same hand. I just started a topical cream, but not helping much
