Nope!

Not at all.
It's astonishing that people actually pay that much.
I've seen 1/4 inch nubs go for hundreds!

Not me though.
My reef is for me. Not Instagram or Facebook.

I have beautiful torches. They are large and healthy.
I would never sell them as anything other than a regular torch if I were to ever sell but let me ask...

How much would YOU pay for these?

Im noticing people selling neon green torchs as holy grails for 1500$.

Abd yes filters can make green look gold

Look at this picture. Labled dragon soul. I liked it. But i did ask if it had greens and i asked for another pic to be taken. He said he didnt have time to take a new pic due to work. Im thinking hmmm.. so you come home from work.. and have no time to snap a picture. But you have plenty of time to reply to my messages.

I did buy it anyway.. but look what i got in the mail. It did bleach a little i think.. but its been nearly two weeks now. And its only colored up slightly. Its still a weird teal blue though.

Its the orange filters. Im noticing alot of people doing this. The orange filters make torchs and other corals look nothing like they actually do in person.

It’s all about supply and demand. It’s the American way.
It's about supply, demand and unscrupulous people trying to take advantage of people that either don't know better or are straight lied to about what they are trying to buy.

A brown torch is NOT a gold torch but with the right lights and the right filters plus a little bit of photoshop, I could sell multi-colored rainbow skittles torches for thousands!

Sometimes I bet these high-priced items really help keep vendors afloat, but I think hobbyists could drive down the prices for everyone if they wanted to. If torches were more accessible to people's tanks and shared, hobbyist "farming" would increase the supply exponentially (for a time). I think such a phenomenon is happening with rainbow BTAs. They're going to be a dime a dozen in a few years.

$150 for a pencil eraser nub of WD. When only 1 lfs has them what are you to do. I bought it and its pretty nice now.
I did not buy the HW , same size nub for $350.
Lfs tells me they make most of their money from zoas and mushrooms.
I have seen people buy 1/2 of a pencil eraser nub of a bubble shroom for $800, what!
Same with zoas. Get a rock with a few and grow them out and sell 1 zoa for $300, what!
It is what it is.

lighten up my friend, that was a joke. I don’t think there is a big pro-photoshop, pro-price gauging position being argued on this thread. Lol

It is nice that some of the offenders are too slow to understand that their photoshopping is obvious. Others are a little smarter and use a black background. There's a certain clam seller that gives me a good laugh with pictures.

I love to buy a beautiful Magnifica or a Gigantea anemone for 300.00-500.00. These are truest rare and difficult animals to keep, not a chopped up BTA with fancy name for 1400.00.
some of the Torch can be beautiful. I bought a head of a NY Knicks for 150.00. I am happy with my purchase. My NYK Torch have since split to 2 heads and about to split to 4 heads. I can chopped them up and recoup my cost If I want, but will not doing this.
