As far as care and hardiness, should I expect much difference between the purple dartfish and a common firefish?...After a power outage and loss of 3 fish and a cleaner shrimp, I'm planning for the most peaceful livestock for my 10 gal.nano...Have a yellow watchman in QT already, thinking of chalkbass and purple firefish...and that's all...:cool:

Anyone know where I could get a mated pair of purple firefish...that would make a great display, but I don't want to risk same-sex murder...:eek:

They are ever so slightly hardier than regular firefish.

As far as dinding a bonded pr, I strongly recommend getting them where you can pick them out in person. If there is a tank with three or more, the pr will be readily visible through a minute's observation. Two will work together to claim the best hiding spot and keep the others away in a calm tank.
