Hi Rebekah! That is a freshwater kit. That's OK, it's a place to start. You'll want a few things to change over:
Sand
Live Rock (or dry rock that you can culture nitrifying bacteria)
Marine Lighting
TEST KITS

Take it slow. Go on Insta for inspiration. I would start out as Fish Only With Live Rock (FOWLR) and as you get comfortable and stable, explore maybe some soft coral, etc.

Remember that there are thousands of members here on R2R. Nothing good happens fast in reefing. Best Wishes!!!

Hey everyone! My name is Rebekah and my husband and I are on a new adventure in starting a saltwater tank or our baby. She is obsessed with an email and I have always wanted a tank myself. We purchased a top fin all in one 55 gallon aquarium starter kit. What do you recommend we get as upgrades or to get this thing started? We are new to this hobby and we are trying to research and get as much information as we can before we open the box.
