Thanks. I have considered one but then read a lot of posts about issues.





I currently have 8 genera of wrasse and if things go to plan I'll be up to 10 or maybe even 11 soon.
Anampses
Cirrhilabrus
Coris
Halichoeres
Labroides
Macropharyngodon
Novaculichthys
Psuedocheilinops
Planned addition of a Thalassoma and a Paracheilinus.

I forgot to say @i cant think my expensive LFS has a Xenojulis but when asked they said "a lot" and considering their prices a lot means its way out of my price range.

Lol. The “a lot” reminds me of the “top men” seen from Indiana Jones.

There is only one species, the gold nugget Xenojulis margaritaceus. I'm in no rush though. Honestly I'm happy living vicariously through Aaron. But I wouldn't pass up a healthy, eating one if I saw one at a store for a reasonable price. This store likes to stick extra zeros to fish.

In my case it was an incredibly cheap fish… I got her at the price of a timorensis. The only downside is it’s hard to get photos that make her look pretty and not just green.

I always think of lamb chops when I read this name…..then I think of Jurassic Park because thats what the guy asked the girl, then I think prehistoric fish, and then I think back to reefing fish which leads me to wrasse which leads to scientific names leading to this name leading to all over again :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Hi guys. Any appropriate wrasses for a 40g? I have a 40g IM fusion currently with a pink smith damsel, watchman goby, and a tailspot blenny. Looking for one more big showcase fish and I feel like wrasses are the best bet for color and size.

40L version or 40 cube? L is 35" length. I have an M. bipartitis blue star leopard wrasse coming on Wednesday for that tank. Asked for a smaller female.

I'm also planning a pair of pink streaks later down the line.

Be careful with ‘later down the line’ if you leave it too long they won’t survive due to being thrown under too much stress.
