Is this a newer species?
That’s a high price for a fairly old species - described in 1988. It’s been in the hobby a while but is much like the aurantidorsalis and sporadically seen.

Okay, you know what, there is no way to truly show the beauty of this fish. This female looked washed out in the LFS but as soon as she hit my tank, boom a bunch of colours just shone.

@Tcook is that against everyone or just other wrasse
I haven’t had one in my tank and not interested in trying either of the two. It may not bother tangs, genicanthus angels and damsels like the starcki. I believe it would wreak havoc on wrasses like pintail, lineatus, rhomboid and other meek wrasses.

@OrionN I have a 150gal Tank do you think having two of those might be pushing it? Also even if I get one are they hardy? I have a desjardini tang that thinks he owns the world.
I think they will be fine in a 150

I’m terrible looking at pictures but to be honest it looks like a male.
I thought it may be - It’s definitely got the female ’residue’ on it but also signs of the male. It’s small so fingers crossed I get a nice lifespan from it :)

With a 300 gal, high flow, you can add most anything. I would avoid shy fish like Pintail Fairy.
Near the end of the wrasse addition you should add a Diamond Tail Flasher, Naoko Fairy, and a Blue Throat Fairy. These three are some of the f the more agressive ones of the wrasses.

Tank is 300 gallons. Going to be acro and tang dominated. Trying to add fish that will help keep my tang population healthy.
Get a biota cleaner wrasse or two
