The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Cirrhilabrus adornatus (Redfin fairy) wrasse has gone rogue. Paracheilinus carpenteri (Carpenter flasher) used to chase but roles change. It is now to the point that the Carpenter can't get out of a rock work. He gets out to grab a bite when I feed, and the Redfin aggressively chase him till he gets in a hole. No fin or wounds but barely let him eat/swim. I may need to remove one of the two.

Your Urchin is wearing his hat upside down, but don't tell him. He kinda looks like he might be a trendsetter.

Looking at adding a Bell's Flasher to my Fairies (Rhomboid, Pintail) and would love to see some pictures of yours... Who out there has one!?
I will warn bells don’t deal with getting added to others. They stress easy. Also moving them around they can be fragile.
My pictures are way back in my phone but I’ll try to find some. Bells can be mostly orange, red, blue or purple with any or all colors mixed depending on mood and tank mates. They can be a very erratic swimmers and fun to watch.

Put in the order already, my tank is quite peaceful so hopefully it goes smoothly… a bit nervous!

Dude stop taking my picture and give me some of that green mysis with them vitamins already.

Exactly what I feel like my Choati thinks :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Oh and, maybe I went to an LFS today knowing I wanted to look at a wrasse, then came home with slightly more than intended…
Here’s the clue for what I wanted to look at :)

And the clue for the other…

They’re all close (complex) relatives of one of those species

Seeing as I can’t show the third wrasse since she hit the rocks as soon as she entered, why not show the two more obvious ones ;)
Yes, I picked up a pair of Splendens!

Been trying to fatten up my P. splendens, who is finally coming out of the sand more frequently and staying out to eat. Unfortunately, I'll be moving him up to the 83 soon, and I suspect he'll go on another crazy spree.

The chrysus seems to have smashed her face and is missing a good chunk of her upper lip which is now pure white. Looks like she has an underbite. I'm watching her to check that it doesn't get an infection, but hard to tell.

i had one, lol

I’ve seen two of these in person and I initially thought it was a filamentosus… they’re nice when displaying though (that’s what that gave it away).

Hopefully they pull through!
I’ve found pencils really only want to be moved system when they’re out and about and settled into their environment, until then they will go haywire.

Well, it looks like I may have a way to get a laboutei into my tank without so much stress. The lineatus has been swimming around completely fine this morning, still shy (as any female from that complex is) but she’s feeding nicely and coming out.

it was most certainly a bell’s…
but yeah, i won’t get one again.
too similar to filamentosus to justify the price!
would rather add a johnsoni to be honest

What was your experience with having one? Easy to feed? Easily stressed? Passive/aggressive?
