The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

My wrasses are loving the new bigger tank! All of them out at once!
I see the splendens is loving life again!
I love my pair, the male is gorgeous and the female is so subtle but her colouring is stunning next to my other female Pseudojuloides sp.

Hello,
what do you think about a Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus carpenteri) with a Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus lubbocki) in a 50 gallon reefer 250?
Thanks.

I love that roseafascia, man I need a bigger tank :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

I need to get the camera back out at some point, my lineatus has finally settled in and well, she’s begging with everyone else.

Just a quick shot of the Lineatus from today, I really do need to try the camera at these guys again - maybe that’s tomorrow’s task.

Beautiful! And yeah the camera usually only comes out once or twice a year for me these days

Is there any issue mixing Halichoeres and Tamarin? Or having multiple Tamarin together? Eventually I’d like to do a China, red tail tamarin, leopard and Melanarus in a 200 gallon.
I’ve never found an issue with it as long as they’re all females initially or you introduce several at once :)
Here’s one of my favourite photos of my first pair of twisted tamarins followed by my current pair and my radiant I’ve had mixed with them all.

Also, I’d be crossing the Red Tail Tamarin off your list - replace it with something else (I personally love the Lineatus Tamarin). The reason why is this fish is impossible to obtain currently due to the Hawaiian ban.

A couple quick snaps of them all begging. Also, something odd but does anyone else who owns pencils love listening to their beaks when they’re hunting along the rockwork?

I love me some wrasse's, so I want to see everyone's wrasse pictures! Please share!

I've been practicing my fish taking.. Snapped a decent one of my Naoko Wrasse, still need to polish up on my skills though!

Mine sounds like a pistol shrimp. He used to come to the surface and spit at me during feeding time before his jumping accident. Was funny listening to his clicking and spitting.

That's a happy tank! Love the rabbitfish, too!

Oh, dang! That explains why I have only seen it listed on Live Aquariua and nowhere else. Thanks for the info.

I’ve had it once when all 4 of my Pencils made the sound at once - that “pistol shrimp” quickly make a mantis sound.

Well then, we’re at 17 wrasses now. The mirror is up, let’s hope for a better introduction, the Lineatus had a much calmer introduction due to this method fingers crossed this laboutei works.

Have to try and find some of my old posts (on other sites) of my 450g tank about 10 years ago… I believe that I had 25-30 wrasses out of approx 50 fish.
So many wrasses together, that the Wrasse Expert, ‘Evolved’, came to my home to see the tank!

If I didn’t have 8 other fish I’d have 25 wrasses and only wrasses in this tank. It’s one of my dreams to have a wrasse only system and I’m very close to completing it. Think I’ll max out at 20 wrasses with those other fish, one being a female laboutei.

Well, the aquamarinus did what I expected and became a proper bully to put the laboutei in his place, the flame back angel chased the aqua away surprisingly.
It was maybe 30 minutes of this and the laboutei finally hit the rockwork - he got chased out of the first cave because he tried to claim the multicolour’s cave but has now found his own cave to cocoon into. So this is a much calmer introduction than other wrasses have had in the past. Only tomorrow will we be able to say if this is 100% successful or still 50/50.
