The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Male Anampses chrysocephalus on the left and a female Anampses femininus. The first is no longer in the hobby, the second will set you back a couple thousand and probably won't survive.
Are you sure it’s not available I. Hobby? Okay you are right but yet what’s not available some times is depending on who you know. Just saying, with will there is away. Hope your fish are doing good.

My LFS just got a juvenile melanurus in. I now have a wrasse! Hopefully, it will switch to male. If not, oh well.
How bid and a picture? I’ll bet it’s a male already and just needs to mature and settle I. For its colors
She's about 2 inches and a pic.

Are they not good with other wrasses? I thought they were peaceful.

They are more aggressive and can be down right jerks. Many things can dictate their behavior and depends on tank mates and settings. Best to add last. Some have luck but not me. I traded my last one for a powder blue tang that was model citizen.

I go against the grain as far as info and find much to be outdated and past along vs researched for our selves and fish. The last is what I’m about and can show much is outdated or pasted on vs learning and having many fish and their behaviors

She better not be a jerk.
She won't be. He might be though…

If you don't get it, I'm saying that she will become a he eventually

I figured she would change.
My dartfish have been out of their holes a lot more since she was put in.

She young so others will sett pecking order. Happy she gave dart fish confidence to come out. Every fish and tank are different. All we can do is try and have hope. Wrasse we say and get along don’t always work.

I will like to see her mature and color up over time. Enjoy it also

Doing great! On travel right now, but added a super tiny 1 inch royal flasher and a male linespot flasher. Very nice fish!

My new melanurus has vanished. She is now somewhere in the sand.
And could stay there for a few days to a few weeks.

My plans to get a fish I can actually watch are thwarted again!
Once she comes out, she'll be fairly active. Sometimes it just takes them time to decide they're ready.
