The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Did you say Ray at TSM has 20 of them in stock??

What were you looking for? I'm heading there in a few hours and can check for you.

Could you let me know if he ships ? Is there an online account ?
Am looking for a few wrasses that are rarely seen in the hobby and would like to check with him .

Regards,
Abhishek

He's local to me but I know that he ships. His website doesn't always have an accurate list of what he has but he does get a lot of rare fish. He's a sponsor here. I'd message him and let him known what you looking for. Very nice guy and great facility.

Now, I haven’t found anything on special in terms of care for these guys. But have read some where that they may require a cooler temperature, mid-low 70s? I keep my tank 77-80f. Can anyone confirm on this?
Yes, they do come from cooler waters in Australia. Since long term success with this species has been extremely slim, I am very inclined to believe temperature matters a lot. 72F may even be ideal.

I strongly agree with cooler temp for Anampses , Macrophryngdon and Halichoeres . Since I run halides for an acro dominated tank , difficult to go lower than 76. But I make sure it never goes above 76.5 . I try keeping it between 75.5 -76 F . Ideally would live atleast 74 if not 72 . That's why investing all my money for a teco TK-2000 in the future . Then 74 won't be an issue .

Cirrhilabrus roseafascia. Was tempted by a few others but just picked up an Paracheilinus attenuatus and a new pair of skis last week. Not much play money left over!
