I use my iPhone 6 when I have to take quick pictures. It is a really good camera most of the time. I also have a Olympus OM-D E5 Mark II. This is a really good camera that I cannot fully use. Much more sophisticate than I need. I can take really good picture but I wish I know more and able to use it to it's full capability.




I do have hospital tank(s) when needed.
I don't treat Ich or Lymphocystic. They just resolve by itself. If the fish is sick, then I capture him and move him to a treatment tank and treat him accordingly. I don't quarantine for Ich. It just not a significant problem in my tank. I think the fauna in the sand bed feast of the tomites so when the parasite leave the fish, they just get consume by the fauna in the sand bed. I think this is how Ich get control in the wild. My fish don't get Ich even when I introduce a fish with Ich into the system. A week or two and the spots just go away. In the past when I had disaster and get really stressed fish, Ich does not break out in my tank.
I mainly use the QT to get the fish healthy and get use to eating the food I provide for them. I try to keep the QT system healthy and full of fauna and flora to get the sensitive fish to optimal health prior to introduce them in DT.

So you just maintain Ich in your tank. How long to you keep in QT to observe and fatten them up? Personally after losing all my fish at the beginning of the year to velvet, I would be more cautious.

I have Ich eliminated from my tank, not maintain. After Harvey quite a few of my coral died and a few larger fishes died in my office tank Ich did not break out, or other disease, in the remaining fish.
I had disaster in the past where the kalk pump stuck on and OD my tank on Kalk. The fish were stressed anemone stressed (they really don’t like pH spike) but NO ICH outbreak or any other disease out break. Another time when the timer for light in my office tank stuck on. It took me a while to detect the problem because I am not there at night. The fishes were stressed the anemone bleached but NO ICH either. I also stop using all the mechanical timer for my equipment. Threw them all away. Only electronic timer if need now.

I have keep fish for 30 years. I do what works for me. I don’t consider Ich or Lymphocystis a problem. I have no problem introducing fish with either of these condition into my DT since it will resolve on its own without any more work on my part.

I've been practicing my fish taking.. Snapped a decent one of my Naoko Wrasse, still need to polish up on my skills though!

Hi....was following along...just curious...did velvet come in on a new fish addition, and then wipe out your other fish? I couldn't imagine loosing any of my fish!

Did anybody get the large potters wrasse on LA? I got a notification at 4:24pm PST but were sold 2mins later.

I got a few pictures at lunch time when I went home to check on the wrasse. Here they are. I was very lucky to be able to take a quick pictures right at this moment.

That’s the only thing I can think. I think I narrowed it down to female C Jordani. It might have been hidden longer but my White tail tang showed signs. Thought it was ich at first but not and died quick.

Yeah thanks. Lost C. Jordani, C. Exquistus, C. Brunneus, C. Rhomboidalis (2) , Whitetail bristletooth tang Certainly an eye opener. Now leery to add my new wrasses to DT After fallow for about 90 days now. Have three wrasses Going in next week before vacation and then two waiting until I get back. Then I have more going into QT at that time too.

I was fortunate enough to also got a second A. neoguinaicus yesterday at Petco. She is slightly smaller than my first one. Hope they will do well together. The larger on chased her a bit but no injury or problem. She still eats fine.

Yea I don't blame you at all! I bet you are anxious to have your tank full of Wrasses again though!

Quick question, I currently have a Dusky Wrasse who is rather on the large side, would there by any issue in adding a Checkerboard wrasse in the future?

Hmmmm...... probably not...but every Wrasse is different.....I had a checkerboard Wrasse once, he was about 3 inches, the last Wrasse added, then one day he snapped, he went after all my Leopards.... especially my Moyers and Melegris. They would hide in the sand, and run for their lives when they were out. My poor Moyers hid in the sand for 3 weeks. I took him out....that was a PITA....and I traded him in at my LFS.
