The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

So 4 of us in here will have choati's?

You, @Tcook, @Petcrazyson or was it @Slocke?(someone has a trio), and myself.
@Crabby48 had the trio, I’m not sure if he still has them or not though.

This will bring my wrasse total up to… 9;
- M. choati
- M. bipartitus
- P. ataenia
x2
- H. iridis
- H. chloropterus
- C. lubbocki (
Indo)
- C. lubbocki
(Cebu)
- C. naokoae

I’ll likely move the bipartitus into my 4’ tank if I see any issues with her and a new choati.

Don't have a Choati. I am thinking about getting the poor mans choati though: Halichoeres timorensis. There were several at the LFS today and I really like the pattern. Think the Iridis would put up with one?

Should be fine. The iridis may give it a little grief at first but otherwise the two are usually compatible.

Lol. Yea I plan to have a Choati. It’ll be a trio of leopards if they play nice but not sure if I’m gonna go a pair of choati’s and a single negrosensis or vice versa.

Someone came out of hiding. Still waiting to see his girlfriend come out.

You’ll be able to find a male and female choati easier than a male and female negrosensis. If you’re talking about a literal pair.

Built for speed.
Yup! Super excited for this pair to finally be in the display. I was going to wait to move them until after the upgrade, but we decided to paint the room where the quarantines are first, which is much easier if the tanks are empty.

Still on the hunt for a male Pseudojuloides severnsi. Hoping to find a nice looking fish locally, but I may end up having to order one from ReefPro. Trying to avoid that, because I know I'll end up ordering a few other wrasses as well and don't want to drop that much money at once.

They recently listed these on their website, and it would be mine if my house payment and phone bill were not due this week....

I got one from LFS,, shocked at their price as well. I believe showing signs of trans to male. Like I said if I can master these fish in photography.. Might have some pics to share.......
Ok. Someone bought a female from ReefPro recently. I forgot who it was.

I was just browsing the quality marine website, and they have about 6 species of pencil wrasses, plus a bunch of other species of less common wrasses listed on there. I may have to stop at my one LFS who orders from them next weekend and see what I can do to acquire one or 2 new wrasses... afterall, the quarantine is empty now, so easy to move it to another room before adding the new fish
