The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

I wondered that as well when I looked to see if he even sold lunares. To my surprise he did not.
Special order perhaps. Imagine the person who special ordered a lunare and got a Melanurus

He initially said I was welcome to keep it and offered me 15% off next purchase. I informed him that I could not keep it as it would get far too large and aggressive for my tank and that I wanted what I ordered. I even offered to cover shipping as I need one last fish but he already created an order to send the Melanarus and cover shipping at his expense. He said one of his pickers must have grabbed the wrong fish as they can look similar. I get that I suppose.
Honestly, I really disagree with them ‘looking similar’ the only similarity is the dark green body. There are like 1000s of clear differences between them (Even when both specie are coloured down).

It’s rare but its not impossible, I do doubt a special order for a lunate occurred though and it was likely someone brought in the wrong fish.

Dr. Reef does a lot of special orders. Over here he's one of the best sources for odd fish.

From the sounds of it he seems to get too much trust…
I’ve seen so many misidentified fish from Dr Reef especially on here.

Edit button disappeared. Realize that my post is rather cruel. Was hoping to catch and rehome the shrimp, but sadly I made a mistake during capture.
Your post was one of the best I’ve seen in a bit. I would be ticked off too if a shrimp was killing corals… spur of the moment it happens.

From my experience with him, there seems to be mistakes every here and there. The reason I keep going back is due to the fact that he always takes responsibility whether it’s on him or not. Customer service is unmatched.

Here’s three so go get

one.

Well, thanks a lot. Now I have a phone call scheduled for tomorrow with a local acrylic company about making a nice little sand box/sand bed hahah.

That first picture was just way too good. It was so cute it even made the fun police (my wife) say “how do we get one.”

My Carpenter Flasher Wrasse!
Stunning! You've got some skills! Your Carpenter's flasher is actually a Yellow-fin flasher... much less common. Shops misidentify them all the time :)

This was my initial thought. Uh oh we crossed the streams and sent the wrong fish! I do keep coming back because of his customer service. Second to none.

Mrs. Pink Streak is still tiny, but she’s been growing and putting on a little size and color.

And she now stops and lets me take a photo every once in a while.

Edit: here’s a photo of her from the day after I got her.

I need some updated photos of my two but dang they really only want to be photoed alone when they do want to cooperate with photos.

I love that nickname. It becomes relevant every time I go coral shopping with her or without her and she gives me an imaginary “budget”. Never works…

Yeah, no kidding. Mine are way more elusive/secretive when they are together. I can snap photos of them together in their condo at the back of the tank, but the photos are never any good!

Yep haha! I just usually for forgiveness, not for permission. Usually accompanied by me standing in the kitchen holding some creature in a half wet bag up in the air saying “come on, how could I possibly leave this special little creature to be neglected in that place, it needs a loving home.”

Results can vary quite dramatically lol
