I'm also struggling to get a reasonable picture my of flasher. Too fast and camera shy especially for my out-dated auto-focus. Anyway here's my usual over edited photos but why not make the pink streaked look extra pink.A couple of my guys and I finally got a decent photo of the Flasher! Stills unknown of what it actually is but hopefully now we’ll get a better idea as he’s much more comfortable with the phone.

Just going to warn you, if you have any small fish then those fish may ‘vanish’ (Most of the time slender fish are targets). These guys do feed on other fish as they age IME.I picked up a wrastastic bunch of wrasse... the Caribbean Creole Wrasse. My poor pictures do not do them justice. In person, they go from hot pink to purple to blue, depending on how the light hits them. They are about two inches but will get to between six and ten. They are peaceful schooling fish that eat everything. To me, they act more like an Anthias than a wrasse.![]()

If these guys can eat any of my butterflies or angels that share their tank, God bless them. LOLJust going to warn you, if you have any small fish then those fish may ‘vanish’ (Most of the time slender fish are targets). These guys do feed on other fish as they age IME.
That’s the worst moment, when they’re just starting to get established and come out of hiding. You have no idea if it’s both (or in my case all 3) or if it’s just 1. It’s a gamble but the way you said one on the opposite side of the tank, chances are it’s the second as you would’ve seen Atleast some movement from one side to the other.Well I finally saw one maybe both pink streaked wrasse come out of hiding... Reason I say maybe During earlier feed I saw one when I went to get a closer it disappeared behind rocks and saw one on other side of tank... At least I know one is doing well, now I can look closer during feedings... A get them to pose for pictures....
Agree. My Hemi did the same under blues. If he was lower in the tank he shined. I ran more whites part of the day to see his colors.Beautiful! One of my favorite flashers! If only they didn't turn so dark under aquarium lighting.
That is a stunning fish, very nice, thanks for sharing.I don't like to add color to my fish. They often have enough color on their own. However, I got this picture of my Vrolik's wrasse as the light go down. It is very interesting pattern.

I haven’t found much issues with naokoae, they are the easiest wrasse I’ve kept so far (Even my lubbocki has given me issues with feeding in the past). I treat wrasses mostly the same depending on the genus they’re from and my naokoae doesn’t get much in terms of extra care.Beautiful! Which wrasse is that?
And while I have you wrasstasmagoric people - any tips on keeping Naoko fairy wrasses? I’ve tried to introduce one to my tank, on two occasions. Both made it through QT, but there was no sign of them the morning after I introduced them to my display. Abducted by aliens both times. The other wrasses I have are a melanurus and yellow coris. I also have a large black capped basslet that I suspect sent an orchid dottyback to the aliens. Other than that, the only aggressive fish I have are some tangs. Are Naokos sensitive to chemistry changes? The temp and salinity between my QT and display matched, but I didn’t bother to drip acclimate…
I'm tempted to try again with the naoko, but it's getting depressing. Do you know what the flasher is above? I think I want one.I haven’t found much issues with naokoae, they are the easiest wrasse I’ve kept so far (Even my lubbocki has given me issues with feeding in the past).
