Thx for the encouragement :)
No worries :)
We aren’t here to get rid of the hope completely but more so to guide you along your journey.
Definitely don’t give up on the dream, it may become a reality once you have owned enough of them and feel confident.

So, what’s the wrasse plan now? ;)

Lol ok.

I was thinking of turning the tank into that. So let’s see. The current potential stock is… :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

x1 Cirrhilabrus naokoae
x1 Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis
x1 Cirrhilabrus nahackyi
x1 Macropharyngodon marisrubri
x1 Halichoeres melasmapomus
x1 Cirrhilabrus lubbocki
x1 Cirrhilabrus cyanogularis
x1 Paracheilinus attenuatus
x1 Siganus magnificus
x1 Pygoplites diacanthus
x1 Neocirrhitus armatus

+ 4 (Existing 2 Clownfish Black Phantom/Velvet Angelfish, Midas Blenny)

A bit over stocked isn’t it?

Cirrhilabrus cyanogularis may be a trouble maker as if I remember correctly you have a 5’ tank. The others however should be just fine. I have around 15 fish in my 4’ tank and they have yet to go at eachother (6 of those 15ish fish are wrasses). Naokoae in my experience is by far the most peaceful of my wrasses and I have yet to find one that is aggressive (this is from my time in the LFS as well).

Personally I’d add a Cirrhilabrus shutmani to the list, the red really can’t be beaten if you see or have seen one in person.

Also, if you plan on corals, then it really depends on what corals you’re wanting. If you want to go the softie/LPS route like I did, that isnt overstocked - these corals can be under dirty water. However if you want SPS then you may be on the heavier side but again not over stocked.

Yea the tank is going to be around 70% of LPS corals. With SPS being around 30%. Most of the SPS will be at the top back.

You and I have the same size tank then. I also have a 4' 90g and am overstocked lol I would cut down the list some. Like @i cant think suggested I would remove cyanogularis it won't play nice in that size tank. I know @i cant think hasn't come across a mean naokoae, but I have come across a few jerk ones, including one I previously owned. I would add naokoae with caution in a tank our size.

Dang 1’ off, oh well!
Yeah, you should be alright with those wrasses as long as you introduce them in order of aggression - the flasher first then the fairies, then the Leopard and then the Earmuff.

It truly is, this is another wrasse I unfortunately passed up a while ago because I wasn’t into the wrasses as much as I have been in the past 5 years. If I had the room for a Fairy wrasse in my 3’ tank I’d be hunting down a female Shutmani in a heartbeat.

I agree with you on adding a naokoae with caution. I finally came across a nasty Aquamarinus the other day and it just shows that some of us are luckier than others.

Am I the only wrasse lover that doesn't see the appeal of aquamarinus?

Naoko’s are my favorite fish but I know I'm not the only one who has had a lot of health problems with them.

I’ve never found them very appealing either.
