Am I the only wrasse lover that doesn't see the appeal of aquamarinus?
Honestly, I don’t love them it’s just this one caught my eye as it was extremely bright and then it started to beat on the other wrasses in the tank.

Wdym by health prblems?
Well they seem to be the most common fish on the UNWD thread and my second one died suddenly and with absolutely no signs of problems. I've also been told by LFS's that they don't do well for them initially either and seem to be fairly bad shippers. Also heard a couple others on the forums mention poor initial survival.
I really want another but I'm waiting to find one that looks really healthy and hopefully prequarintined or from a tank tear down.
Sorry to be a downer, best personality I've seen in a fish honestly.

Their blue body is pretty, but their face... :squinting-face-with-tongue: reminds me of a koi. It's like someone sewed a koi's head onto a wrasse's body. I don't mean to offend anyone that loves this wrasse, beauty is subjective.

Does anyone own or have kept the Crescent Tail Fairy Wrasse? Care requirements and experiences?

Very pretty wrasses. I've had two of them (not together). They're a smaller fairy wrasse that can get pushed around by bigger fairy wrasses. They're also VERY jumpy. cf Lunatus and brunneus are the jumpiest fairies I've ever kept.

Fingers crossed my newer three last that long.

Do they have a reputation for being finicky? I always figured they were hardy like six lines. Mine has done very well for me but every few months it goes through spells where it looks like it’s about to die and then the next morning it’s like nothing happened

They are certainly not known for being as easy as a Sixline. These guys are much harder to settle into captivity than a sixline as they’re susceptible to any stress when in a new environment. They can also have periods like you say where they look like they may be about to die however this is uncommon IME.

Their reputation is heavily on the finicky side of things as well as being very shy when establishing. My three were always shy of me but now all 3 of them will come out for a bit to almost ‘say hello’ to me.

Hm very interesting. My LFS had theirs for a while when I got it. It colored up beautifully too. They’re very timid for sure. I almost wish I got one more to have a pair
