The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

That’s what I’m going with so far yep!

I have yet to confirm it however here’s a clue;
I’ve mentioned it before and actually you gave me the idea :)
A REGAL! YES!

Hopefully I can find a trio but I may stick to a pair.

Any thoughts on if a shutmani would fit if it was the last fish in the tank? I need something for activity with an aim to stick to the wrasses.
So u did listen to me :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Shutmani in your 3' tank? Too shallow. I put a small brunneus in my shallow 20 long for observation and he jumped during tank maintenance within 3 wks of having him in there. I knew better and it ended in his death. Shallow tanks and fairies don't mix. If you're fortunate enough to get a shutmani put him in the 4' tank so you can really see that gorgeous red coloration.
Can you think of any wrasses that may fit in my tank and give me the extra activity but not hide as much?

As long as your bipartitus is still female you could try a small black leopard. For me, they've been slow growers. My current one took 3yrs to go from 1.5" to 3". My previous one grew slow too and maxed out at 4".

My bipartitus is definitely still female and it seems she’s just as slow of a grower too. She’s only about 1 inch currently (maybe a bit bigger), although I hope if I did grab a negrosensis that it would transition over the bipartitus.

I don’t currently have an Angel in any of my reefs, however the regal from what I’ve read attains the same max size as my Melanospilos would have (although both seem to be slower growers and only really get 5.5-6 inches from what I’ve read and experienced).

So that’s what I didn’t understand from your earlier post so did she die? Idk know thta!

Bipartitus seems to transition more frequently than other leopards. Only way to guarantee that negrosensis would transition before your bipartitus is if you put it in Crabby's tank first lol

Unfortunately she did, and I have to agree with Salty in it being something systemic as nothing else adds up.
@i cant think have you decided what region you want it from? Can I recommend the Red Sea?
I’m aiming for a Red Sea Variant due to the colouring however either of the origins with the Yellow Belly will do for me :)

I don’t believe it’s easy to find fish collected from the Red Sea?
I live next to the Red Sea and never received a shipment of fish from there.
The Regal Angel from the Red Sea is rather easy in my area however we get many fish from the Red Sea (including some rarer African wrasses appearing such as the Attenuatus).

We also get those but not from the Red Sea mainly from the indo pacific, where both species could be found. However I apologise I miss read @Petcrazyson post didn’t notice that he was talking about the regal Angel fish.
It’s a bit late here o_O

Ever since Oman opened, fish from that area have just been a huge influx and Indonesian fish are harder to get hold of in the UK.
