The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

We also get those but not from the Red Sea mainly from the indo pacific, where both species could be found. However I apologise I miss read @Petcrazyson post didn’t notice that he was talking about the regal Angel fish.
It’s a bit late here o_O
Maybe cause I shop from TSA and both WWC locally, but I see many of Red Sea fish including Red Sea Angels a lot.

No worries :)

The Regal Angel from the Red Sea is rather easy in my area however we get many fish from the Red Sea (including some rarer African wrasses appearing such as the Attenuatus).
Why don’t you just get that wrasse?

Unfortunately she did, and I have to agree with Salty in it being something systemic as nothing else adds up.

I’m aiming for a Red Sea Variant due to the colouring however either of the origins with the Yellow Belly will do for me :)
I love the Red Sea one cause they have and add so much more color to your tank than the Pacific and Indonesian variants.

Why don’t you just get that wrasse?
I have a gang of wrasses and as they age the more I add the more I risk the harmony between them and as much as I want more wrasses, I would rather have the harmony I have now :)

Didn’t u ask for a wrasse recommendation to add though?

That’s for my 3’ tank :)
I’m aiming for a wrasse dominant SPS reef in my smaller tank and I need something to add activity.

Ever since Oman opened, fish from that area have just been a huge influx and Indonesian fish are harder to get hold of in the UK.
Oman does not lire on the Red Sea (it’s a common misconception). Countries that lie on the Red Sea are the following; Jordan, Palestinian Territories, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Sudan, Egypt, eriteria and Ethiopia . The only two I know of exporting fish are Sudan and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. I am not saying that non get exported directly form the Red Sea but the majority of the Red Sea species get exported from areas near to it such as countries lying on the Indo Pacific.

I keep mixing up Oman and Yemen in terms of where they are. I have certainly seen quite a few of the fish coming out of Sudan make it up here however I do agree with you and think more fish that are sold as ‘African/Indian Ocean’ are from the Indo-Pacific.

Negrosensis is a much nicer male IMHO, however marisirubri is also rather close in my list of nicest males :)
I do prefer the female coloration though.... Ah well guess I get to see both.
Looks like the slot for my marisrubri just jumped out the tank and was taken over by this guy,
The negroensis is pretty but come on..... I really need to fix my camera filter issue so I can photo him/her when they are sparkling in the intense blue light.

(all photos are old as I'm away on business)

I’ve had a six line wrasse for about two years and he runs my tank, but have been wanting to add another wrasse. I’ve heard there jerks to new ones any advice for adding another or specific kinds to add, really like the leopard wrasses

First bit of advice;
Trap and remove the sixline, you likely will not be able to add any other wrasses - especially the leopards. Leopards are much more sensitive to aggression than some other species from what I’ve seen.
