The only greenish one I have is the Hardwicke. And he's already been named Liberace.
So a new one! Wish I could have a green bird wrasse. They're super neat looking!
Here’s the list for you!
Halichoeres chloropterus (Duh! I own one, couldn’t forget this beauty)*
Anampses cuvier (As a male, they’re blue/green)
Anampses geographicus (Females are a darker green)
Anampses femininus (Males are greenish from what I remember)
Cheilinus undulatus (I said, no green left behind and I mean it)*
Cheilinus lunulatus (Males have a green/blue colouring)*
Cirrhilabrus punctatus
Cirrhilabrus pylei (Vanuatu variants can be slightly green tinted)
Cirrhilabrus scottorum (One of the most well known green coloured wrasses)*
Cirrhilabrus melanomarginatus (often confused with scottorum)*
Coris cuvieri (Again, it’s a blue/green tint as males but juveniles are a dirty green)*
Coris formosa (IP have a dirty green but males are blue/green)*
Coris gaimard (green base)*
Gomphosus varius (Males are green)*
Gomphosus caeruleus (again, males are green)*
Halichoeres biocellatus (Males are green)
Halichoeres argus (spotted green)
Halichoeres melanurus (another obvious green one)
Halichoeres chlorocephalus (green head)*
Halichoeres leucurus (mostly green with yellow tints)
Halichoeres marginatus (green striped)
Halichoeres vroliki (similar to the Melanurus)
Halichoeres richmondi (similar to the marginatus)
Halichoeres rubricephalus (green with red head)
Halichoeres zeylonicus (very green)*
Macrophayrngodon marisrubri (males are green)
Macropharyngodon bipartitus (males are also green with more pale areas)
Macropharyngodon ornatissimus (These are mainly green throughout their whole life)
Macropharyngodon meleagris (males are greenish)
Pseudojuloides cerasinus (males are green)
Pseudojuloides erythops (males are green)
Xenojulis margaritaceus (they have a green tint as juveniles and then are very green as males)
I’m cutting the list there as it’ll be incredibly long by the time I’ve gone through every genus haha. Some of these are risky in reefs or with other wrasses (I have labelled them with a *).
I’m aware they’re not all in italics and the reason why is… I’m lazy haha.
