I love the Naoko. Its coloration reminds me of a weathered but fun and brightly painted wooden shack or boat. Not an insult as it reminds me of the beach.

I never saw any aggression from a Naoko.
That should work without any issues as they are unrelated and both peaceful, smaller species.
My last ruby long fin fairy was a complete terror! Chased everyone, harassed any new wrasses to death, and even chas3d my blue eye kole.
I was not sad when I found it on the floor as fish jerky.

Cirrhilabrus isosceles is a very sensitive fish. They are more timid and take more time to get established than other Cirrhilabrus. Cirrhilabrus rubeus can be much more boisterous than other fairies, so that is the reason they may come out as more aggressive. They are just super active and a much more timid fairy that shares the same territory and space as he does don’t always fair well with the rubeus. That being said they can be housed together. Rubeus is not an “aggressive fish“ like a damsel would be or a Tang, they just need more room and mates that are comfortable with his attitude and attention. How big is your tank? If it’s anything under a 70 gallon I wouldn’t recommend it. Though if you are set on getting both you should let the isosceles settle in for a few weeks, let it establish its own territory. If you get a much more timid specimen than most others pass on the rubeus, but if it shows it’s comfortable around other fish or can defend it’s territory well, and if it isn’t showing any skittishness around other wrasse mates, you could try out a small rubeus. An acclamation box is great for adding wrasse rubeus being no exception. In the end it could work, or it could not. Just be prepared if things need to be corrected.

The Slendid fairy wrasse is really timid in my tank. He is not thin, eating well but I don’t think I ever see him flash, ever, even with a large mirror. That is a huge abnormality in my tank. I would not get another one for my tank.
He nearly cost me an arm and a leg too, which is really too bad. He has huge potential. Maybe in a small tank with not many other fishes or any agressive fish.

Y'all. I'm officially, 100% wrasse-obsessed. It's becoming a problem for my wallet, lol. :grinning-face-with-sweat: What did I get myself for Mother's Day? (Yes, I always use it as an excuse to buy myself something, hahaha). Well friends, I got a new wrasse - honestly I can't remember the name they used at my LFS, but I "think" it looks like Halichoeres margaritaceus (Pearly Wrasse). I pick it up this weekend, so I'll post pics when I do and I'm sure someone here can identify it for me. :) I hope that because it's a little smaller than my melanurus, that the mel will consider it friend and not foe.
Oh yeah, I also have an orangeback fairy wrasse on order with Dr. Reef, currently in quarantine. So that will bring me up to 4 wrasse. I'm pretty well-stocked at that point, but if I had a larger tank, I'd definitely have more!
I shared the C. rubisquamis here when I got him, and thought I'd share an update: he has definitely settled in to the tank nicely, is less shy, hangs out with the melanurus, has colored up so much, and filled out for sure. Body condition looks great in my opinion. About once a day he zooms across the tank flaring his fins, lol. Not sure who he's showing off too, but I've been trying unsuccessfully to capture it on camera. But, here he is:

I can't wait to share them! :) And yes, he's definitely "plump" lol. Put on a little belly pretty quickly (I feed somewhat heavy - keeps all the "hangry-ness" at bay, haha)!

Theory is that Rubriquamis isn’t actually anything like Finifenmaa now, it’s thought Rubrisquamis is actually closer in looks to the Vibranium fairy from what I remember and Finifenmaa is our ‘Rubrisquamis’.

Thats an injury that has a very serious bacterial infection but we are not fish medics so please post on the Disease and Treatment forum not here.Can you guys confirm if this is disease or harassment? Tank mates, leopard wrasse, very large exquisite wrasse, Midas blenny, one spot foxface, Tomani tang, and 2 storm clowns.

I have this wrasse but I’m not sure what kind it is. I do love how it looks under blues. It looks electric.I love me some wrasse's, so I want to see everyone's wrasse pictures! Please share!
I've been practicing my fish taking.. Snapped a decent one of my Naoko Wrasse, still need to polish up on my skills though!

This looks like Cirrhilabrus temminckii. Might be a SuperMale as the colors are very rich and darker than a typical male. Beautiful wrasse you’ve got thereI have this wrasse but I’m not sure what kind it is. I do love how it looks under blues. It looks electric.
