The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

All quiet on the western front I see…

Was at my local petco to pick up another heater and saw they had a couple of these guys for $40 per one. I think they had it listed as a marble wrasse… y’all familiar with them?

Definitely pass on this guy! Wow surprised Petco had some. These guys get bug and nasty and honestly wouldn’t keep them at unless a large fowler.

They also had 2 powder browns and a fat looking Naso (5”?)
Intereating. I guess that’s the only plus of going to Petco you never know what gem you’ll find lol for a quarter of its price. How much were the Tangs?

Not certain the browns, I think the Naso was listed $100

They have really good prices, but you’re basically guaranteed ick

70% out 100% yes, but always good reason as to why you should QT fish from a Petco or Petsmart or another highly untrusted store.

It is all depends on store. The Petco in Corpus Christi is actually very good. Gaby the fish manager knows what she is doing.
I’ve seen fish that looked like you dipped them in a salt bucket at this one… :grimacing-face:

I find it so weird that you buy marine fish from petco. My petco has like 4 tanks which are of course only freshwater and no other animals. It’s basically just a supplies store.

A few of the larger petco stores can be good to get fish cheap. Damsels in particular. I can still get $5 damsels there unlike to $10 minimum I pay anywhere else. I don't lose any of those cheap damsels and they get a good qt. It's a win for me and the petco is closer than all other quality stores. Any other species except for a few gobies I usually go elsewhere. One time I got a tang from them because I walked in as they were unboxing and I asked to look at what didn't go in the tanks yet and went home with a kole tang. That's the way to do business with a petco

I’d never trust Petco. For the life of me lol.

These are some of the animals, and 1 plant I got from Petco Corpus Christi. They don’t look like this when they first arrive to my tank, but this is how they look after a time.

Those are some beautiful fish but with your photography talent you could make Selene vomer look good.
