The rest of the pics from the last couple days. Isn't the lunare a stunning wrasse. The tail fin and anal are so beautiful!

Taken under full blues it is like a shadow across the tank. The timor also under full blues.

The dragon being dragonly as usual. Look at those teeth!

Finally look what is finally happening!!! (i think)

The transitioning only took what? 6 months or so to occur?
So… it’ll probably be another year for it to complete haha.

6 months? I’ve had her over a year. She’s not so little anymore.

Really starting to like leopards. My blue star is the friendliest fish in the tank by far. Love my yellow pig wrasse, but the M. bipartitis is the one that comes right up to the glass and looks at me like "I know what you do. Keep it up, friend!"

Leopards have the best personalities to me of all wrasse. They are very good driven. My males will eat me out of a place to live trying to keep them full!

How big is the Attenuatus, he’s beautiful.

You and Salty really showed the beauty in this fish which is why I got mine (plus, who can resist an Attenuatus called atty?).

Would say he is about 3” maybe little bigger. He starting to stand up to the bully’s and earning a top spot. Thanks for the kind words. Miss some I had that I can’t collect now but happy with the new guys that replaced them. Still have a few show stoppers on my list but not sure if I’ll get them as of now

Hi everyone,

I just got my first Leopard Wrasse (Bipartitus) Friday night. A gorgeous specimen from a LFS I trust, and eating frozen mysis.

She’s been actively swimming around the bottom of my 10gal QT tank but hasn’t found the sand dish yet. She also hasn’t ate in front of me yet, though I saw her picking at the bottom of the bare tank out the corner of my eye. I’ve also seen her flexing her jaws so I’m confident damage isn’t an issue.

QT is at 1.69ppm CopperPower to match LFS conditions, and plan to ramp it up to therapeutic levels once she’s eating. I’ve tried Rod’s Food fish eggs, and Hikari mysis with selcon and GarlicPower.

Any suggestions?

Eggs always seems to do the trick. How big is the sand dish? Maybe an upgraded dish to give her more space if possible? Seems like she's fine if she's pecking around. Might just need some time to settle.

Congrats! It can take a week or two for leopards to fully settle in. She'll eventually find the sand. Was she eating Hikari mysis at the LFS? If not, I would get the exact same mysis she was previously eating. Also, I recommend stopping the selcon and garlic those additives can actually be a deterrent to a wrasse that's not feeding yet. Once you get her to start feeding then you can introduce additional food items.

Oh, if you really want to kick it up to 10, hatch some baby brine and shoot them into the tank. I did that for the wrasses when they arrived to jump start their appetite and now I just keep doing it every week

Would the QT treatment cause the baby brine to immediately die and foul the water? I would hope not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thank you, my wife loved the coloration and I always wanted a leopard so had to strike at the opportunity!!

The dish is more of a 4.5”dia bowl. It worked with my Melanurus in QT who was a bit bigger, though it wouldn’t hurt to try a lower larger dish.

I’m not sure, I’ll have to ask about the brand.

Didn’t know about the negative effects of supplements, I’ll discontinue them until she is continuously eating.

I’ll have to order some brine shrimp eggs and setup a hatching tank. No one seems to have live food near me.

I forgot to mention that my setup included a 2” MarinePure which was seeded with bacteria and pods in a sump. She might have been snacking from it.

Wrasse Wednesday. Everyone being shy this morning, they are always a little more reclusive when it’s dark and stormy out.

Exquisite was hiding before the weather got bad.

Ordered and received one extra hailcores chrysus and one extra Macropharyngodon meleagris. One of each pair is about an inch and a half, the other is one inch. I’m sure it’s to account for shipping death.
advice? My plan is to observe for a couple of weeks then sell the extras if they all live. I don’t think they can coexist long term in an 80 gallon

I had two alive H. chrysus and sold one. Only ine of two M. bipartitis made it. Ordered one of each.

Green coris?? is in the tank. To weak to bury so laid on sand. Starting to move around some. Time will tell if it makes it.

Looks like a mature male I see some yellow behind the red. He'll settle in he's in a large tank with peaceful roomies - positive vibes!

Yes he has the yellow. They said the colors were mature males. With they would collect younger ones as they would be more hearty. Told him I love him and gave him a kiss before going to work

Yes. Just happy I found some. It has been the hardest wrasse by far to get. So many people I begged.
Told you I will find them a long time ago lol

With rubricephalus I’ve seen young males but the fish in general comes in rarely.
I’ve also seen females come in but again, this fish is a rare species to come in (Although it’s not technically rare and is more uncommon).
