The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Hey, I've been away from wrasse duties for a while but am looking at making a comeback with a big long article about....

Non-reef safe wrasse!

So I'm looking for:
  1. Pictures! @OrchidMiss Can I use a pic of Red? @OrionN do you have pictures of a Harlequin Tusk? Anyone else I'd love to see your wrasse monsters and use them in the article! I will use with explicit permission only.
  2. Editors! Also, you very much are allowed to give me constructive criticism and rewrite sections. Just really looking for a person or more to give me their two cents!
Plan is to do it roughly similiar to evolved's article but as an homage. Concentrating on the most common species and genera while warning off the insuitable. Of course I will use the wrasse bibble heavily too. Thoughts?
I got picture of my HT. Will get it for you this PM when I get home

Baby Hat GIF

Not only is cow milk absolutely disgusting once you think about it. It also is absolutely awful for the environment in every way.
Plus cow milk is good for baby cows, not great for baby human and absolutely awful for adult human (especially those that do not need the extra calory)

So who here has kept Cirrhilabrus cyanogularis with other fairies? Wifey came home with a naoko and a bluethroat today for my 8' 240 gallon. So far, they ignore each other, bluethroat seems primarily interested in the mirror on the end of the tank, and was immediately put into his place by the chromis and the male kashiwae anthias.

Side note, anyone ever tried pairing Labroides dimidiatus in a tank this size?

Beautiful fishes. Some of the most beautiful. I did not have problem with their aggressiveness in a 320 gal tank, even together plus other aggressive fairies and flashers. In smaller tank, C. cyanogularis can be hell on wheel.

Added a Ruby Longfin to my tank. In the acclimation box for a few days while the other wrasse size him up etc..

Current wrasse in system:

Yellow Wrasse
Pintail Fairy Wrasse
Eightline Flasher Wrasse
Ruby Red Longfin Fairy Wrasse
Should not have much aggression with that group. Nice.

Gorgeous fish! I did add 3 more wrasses today, which brings the total in here to 7. Unfortunately didn't get pics of everyone, since a couple are still hiding. My male cyanogularis definitely isn't that big and colorful yet, but already posturing and displaying, even chasing off the chromis and the male kashiwae anthias when they flare at one another.

Current wrasses:
Cirrhilabrus balteatus
Cirrhilabrus cyanogularis
Cirrhilabrus debelius - hiding
Cirrhilabrus naokoae
Labroides dimidiatus x2 - 1x hiding
Macropharyngodon negrosensis - hiding

And some much lower quality pics than posted by OrionN

Naokoae decided to pose right after I posted.

Naokoae is one I will always miss, I just keep seeing much larger specimens appearing even at the dealers

What is the plural for "wrasse"? Is it like "fish" where "fish" is the term for a lot of fish but "fishes" is the word used for a variety of types of fish? AKA I have a lot of "wrasse" but I'd like a greater variety of wrasses??
