Hi guys. New to this thread. Wow I’m not even gonna try and read back!

We have an established female blue leopard wrasse (peacock wrasse in the UK marketplace) - she is our only wrasse in a 6ft with quite a mixed bag of other fish. I can post them all if it helps. The tank has been up and running for 4 years.

Basically we have seen a beautiful ‘mystery’ wrasse and I’ve always been struck with the look of the Naoko wrasse. I can find and post a pic or a link to a video of the mystery wrasse if that helps with ID.

Any tips on compatibility between our female leopard star and either or both of those? I’ve tried to use a compatibility chart but struggling to find the leopard wrasse on the chart. A link to a good chart I could use would also be appreciated!

I haven't seen any fairies or flashers mess with my leopard. They seem to only fixate on themselves. Might be problematic with the more aggressive fairies. Mystery is a Pseudocheilinus, lined wrasse, which is a genus I avoid due to their territorial nature. Others will be able to comment more specifically on the Mystery (@i cant think ??).

Well, I’ve done it… a second wrasse to settle down. She’s settled in and feeding happily currently but I just want to hold her with the Vivien so that I can get more food in her and have them both fattening up at a similar rate.

Any guesses?

I had a Xenojulis for a few years but my cleaner became way too dominant for her, she’s just began the transition too. I was gutted when she vanished and I found the cleaner being the issue (after it killed my first Kaleidos Pencil Wrasse).

I thought you were in the UK from previous posts/replies. Yes we actually live near the Hertfordshire TMC distribution centre but can't visit as it's closed to the public. But one positive is we know someone from a (big) LFS who often visits to hand pick the stock so it could be possible for us to request a specific species.

No particular number - we just like the look of some of the wrasse we have seen and are interested in adding one or maybe more at some point. Obviously we want to try and do this as responsibly as possible so this seemed like a good place to ask for advice. We also have (high) nutrient issues so adding fish has got to be done with some care and thought.

The compatibility charts are interesting but really there's no substitute for experience.

Also I'll add our tank has a sandbed which in some places is up to about 3-4 inches but for the most part is only a centimetre or 2 and in some places has been cleared by various incumbents - the leopard star sleeps in the deep sand.

I know, I know common and cheap wrasse. BUT a beauty. Beggars can’t be choosy. AND hold his own against a Bluethroat Fairy, another beautiful wrasse. Both doing extremely well in my large DT full of large fishes. I just cannot have timid wrasses in this tank. Even if the angels and the tangs do not attract the wrasses, their size is intimidating to the wrasses.

Is that a Clown Fairy Wrasse? I just got one Tuesday, with a Blue Throat, Exquisite, and Orange Back.

In general Thalassoma genus are aggressive. They in general don’t play nice with other wrasses. In general they will eat your clean up crew. There are always exceptions but in general they are aggressive.

I’ve been after one for a long time, and today a female Halichoeres biocellatus came in. The perfect size and looks as though she’s soon to turn male too!

Hoping my iridis will play nicely with her, but I’m not too sure how it’ll play out.

Awe thank you, I got him in with this rosy scale. Originally asked because the place I got them for charged more for “males” & I thought similar his color was a little faint leaning more female. But I let it go, he’s healthy and I’m happy.

Sounds exactly like my 5 foot
Soon it’ll have 3 Halichoeres in it with a Lapillus fattening up in my Vivien.
Here’s the 3 Halichoeres I have currently plus my Vivien (who took a small dive a couple days ago so she’s lost a tiny bit of weight but still looking better than she originally did).

For me, it's a Cirrhilabrus solorensis now named Cirrhilabrus aquamarinus.
