Hello, I have a Red Sea Reefer 300 XL G2 tank.
35.4 x 22.6 x 21.7 inches. 65 gallons in the main tank, 15 gallons in the cabinet sump.

For the past two months, I've had a Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse and a McCosker's Flasher Wrasse, introduced at the same time and without any problems.

I believe I can add at least one Paracheilinus.
Most importantly for me:
I'd like to know about your real-life experiences keeping multiple Paracheilinus in a tank the same size as mine.

Thank you.

That Lunare Wrasse looks like it is not as vibrant as I typically see. I wonder if it is a female.
It’s definitely a male - Lunares often dull in colour as they age and only up close do you see their patterns.

Hey guys/gals, is it odd behavior that he eats nori? I feed mysis and pellets, which he eats both and picks off the rocks, but its almost like my tangs have trained to eat nori too.

That’s totally normal! I don’t know where but somewhere I’ve got a video of every wrasse in my 5 foot munching nori. They love it.

Here’s a wrasse I don’t show off nearly as much as I should… my Wetmorella nigropinnata (Gold Band Possum). He’s been pecking around the rockwork quite happily now I’ve got some proper live rock with everything from sillicate loving sponges to feather dusters!

I’ve got some more rock to add into the tank tonight and I intend to add a chilli coral from my 5 footer to try get some of the feeding going.

And, seeing as I’ve gotten one of my “nano” wrasses, I couldn’t not add the other two! Both Pseudocheilinops ataenia are visible here but the female only has an eye visible.

And the macro tank they spawn in!

I kept four (Blue, McCoskers, Carpenters, Yellow Fin) in a 100 gal (42 x 24 x24 inches) along with a Leopard Wrasse and three Fairies (Rubeus, Rubripinnis, Pintail). The Fairies are dominant (especially the Rubeus), and the Yellow Fin was the weakest and eventually died after about a year, but otherwise it worked. I would think you could keep at least three in your 65 even with the Lubbock's if it and the McCoskers has not gotten too established already. Have plenty of rock work. I would be cautious about adding more Fairy Wrasses as they are much more aggressive IME.

Red Tail Flasher (Paracheilinus rubricaudalis) showing off last night. Him and my Blue Flasher go back and forth for flasher dominance in my tank. I also have an Eight line which usually minds his own business.

One weird quirk I’ve noticed between my Blue flasher and Eightline is they tend to flash at my TailSpot Blenny. They like to hover around my Blennys coral home and flash at him lol

Wrasse are pigs but they do like nori. I have used it to keep wrasse in qt fed while they get on a light and feeding schedule.

Red tail is in my top two flashers. Nice score. Might be weird but not uncommon for a wrasse to flash a fish lower on the food chain

A wrasse I got a couple weeks ago but haven’t truly shown off. My male Biocellatus! I sold this guy to a customer a few years ago as a small female, and they shut their system down not too long ago and well, this guy wound up in my tank!

The Lapillus in the 5 footer! My vivien has yet to emerge but I feel like I will be removing my flame back as he’s become nasty towards all the wrasses.

Close up of my tank featuring all my wrasse:

Red Tail Flasher
Blue Flasher
Eightline Flasher
Pin Tail Fairy
Yellow Wrasse

If I were to add another wrasse, it would likely be a leopard variety. Right now, my wrasse mainly play nice and I wouldn’t want to push them to aggression.

It should be a Vivien
