Hit up the LFS's today and the first (better usually on the cool fish but pricier but you get what you pay for) had received a huge shipment of cf. lanceolatus which was the first fish I saw when I walked in and my jaw dropped. He was asking 200 for the males but I picked up a female for less. She's in the acclimation box now and is hiding behind in the pvc and I can't get a good shot.

He also got in what he said was lunatus but I think it's a Katoi from the same Philippines shipment. Sorry the photos aren't great, but I just had my phone and the lighting was sub-par.

Then we went to the other store and they were having a big 20% off sale and had some what look to be Cirrhilabrus cf. temminckii sp 1 from the Kuiter books. Asking 39.99 and with 20 off got it for about 31. A steal. Also was in a tank with a probably carpenters flasher with lots of broken spots so he came home too. I wasn't buying fish today, I swore. Lol.

Thanks for looking.

I'll try to get one soon. My tank is currently a 27 gallon rubbermaid until I can get my 40B setup. The picture will be a top down pic, but dang is he still pretty even from that angle.

Here are some videos of the Naoko. It's been about a week now and he has settled in well. He eats pellets readily and has fattened up a bit. Now to just get this stand, sump, overflow built. Drill the 40B. Order pumps and pvc pipe. blah blah blah. I'm happy the corals are growing well under the 65ooK bulbs. Problem is the algae loves the 6500K bulbs too.

So I ordered a male pintail wrasses from my LFS. Came in as a female almost fully transformed male. So I got him/her at more then half the price I was hoping to pay. Leaving me a few extra. Today on a hunch I go into another LFS. I picked up a crescent tail fairy wrasse !!! Awesome pick up

Acclimatization question for all the professionals. How long should I or anyone keep a wrasse in an acclimation box? Keep forgetting to post this question. I'm sure others wonder the same thing...

I only do a day or two unless there is blatant aggression, then I will go up to a week, but if aggression lasts that long somebody will need to be rehomed.

Man, I'm so mad. I had the tank covered and the Naoko still figured a way out. I caught him flopping on the ground the first time. The second time I wasn't lucky and found him on top of the netting, stiff and cold. Jumped twice within an hour. I am so upset with myself, I just don't even know how to express my frustration. Part of me thinks I should've used acrylic sheet to cover the top, but then I was afraid the wrasse would kill itself knocking into it like my chromis. This hobby is so frustrating sometimes.

My condolences. I also had a naoko make it past netting somehow and end up dried on the floor.

Correct ;)

He swore it wasn't katoi, but it certainly is. It is a big fish, and he's gonna be asking 300+ for it but he also is going to call it a Crescent-tail. He still doesn't think my chiseltooth juvenile with blue on her is a pure chiseltooth, "has to be a hybrid Tamarin or something".
