The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

I may very well get one someday, thought its home would be a 1200g and tankmates triggers, large angels, and big tangs.
Exactly; suitable like that. :) You know what you're getting into.

Have a vermented snail problem...going to be switching everything to my 30 gallon once its done cycling. Any ideas on what type of wrasse i should get.. Lps said a wrasse would work good for my 30gallon...but i want my wrasse to be comfortable...is a 30 g okay?

Unless you break off the tubes and actually expose the worm, and wrasse won't do anything for you I'm afraid.

O man....what do i do then....they are all babies.. Tiny..almost microscopic to the eye. But thats deff what they are!! How do i dispose of them!? But in general...wrasse are beautiful...could i have one in my 30 g?

@evolved I currently have a Lineatus rougly 4.5in and I was looking into a Rhomboid Male approx. the same size. Should I have any concern with housing them together? I would slowly introduce the Rhomboid in an acclimation box after he goes through QT.

The only species I recommend for a 30g tank are the pink streak (Pseudocheilinops ataenia) or any of the possum (Wetmorella) species.

Sometimes the two species will squabble, but usually they are okay. You'll have to test the waters with the acclimation box.

Thank you. I figured there is the possibility they could quarrel.

It's the quarreling, they need more swimming room than a 30 gallon has
Evolved was referring to another users 30gal. I have several tanks. The Lineatus is in the 120gal currently. Plenty of room to add a Rhomboid. Just need to use the acclimation box since the Lineatus is pretty darn bold when it comes to his room mates.

Some cell phone shots of my lineatus today.
