Divers Den has one and im just curious about this vs the 6 line. Coming from the same family, will they exhibit the same behavior of aggression?

Yup, nearly as evil. Simple rule: avoid all Pseudocheilinus wrasses.

Probably, but you will need to keep an eye out for a bacterial infection. If it has not improved in a several days, a hospital tank may be necessary.

I had to give away my Melanurus, hardest decision to make. He was my fav fish. He was getting aggressive. Now I have Lubbock and replaced Melanurus with a McCosker's. Want to add one more, but I have to hold on. What about Yellowfin or Carpenters Flashers using acclimation box?

Not to sound harsh, but that is a source of your issues. It's really not enough room for a melanurus, and likely lead to the aggression. As for Paracheilinus, I do not like to see them in tanks smaller than 3' in length as they need that lateral swimming space to "do their thing". That being said, the compatibility of those flashers would be okay.

No not at all harsh. I should not have added Melanurus. It’s my fault. I was so torn between fish, coral and beginner tank, budget, fear or failure etc. Now I get the picture.

Hello everyone. I picked up two new wrasses. One from DD Tuesday night and another they had on hold for me. Picked them up yesterday and they have been in my acclimation box since about 6pm. They look great and the two new fish although separated in the acclimation box seem to be buddies. My current royal flasher has not seemed to notice them yet. What are the signs I am looking for to make sure all three will be compatible with my other fish in DT.

Current 180 is stocked with a Royal flasher, blue chromis, desjardini sailfin, Caribbean blue tang, and engineers goby. The blue tang is the dominant one and mainly keeps his attention towards the sailfin but I don’t want him to bully my new wrasses. The tangs never pay any attention to the Royal flasher thou so I assume all will be good.

New guys are a blue flasher (he is good sized) and yellow fin (which is pretty small compared to the others)

Here is the blue flasher. Not the best photo as there is stuff between glass and acclimation box.

The blue flasher is swimming all over the acclimation box today but the yellow fin is not he is hanging out in the pvc or near it that I have in there. The yellow fin has a very large maybe 1/4 of his body white blotch. Could this be slime coat or something from stress. This wasn't there yesterday when he was put into acclimation box. I will try to get a photo

Thanks you for answering so fast. So he will be fine. He is the smallest of the three wrasses in tank. My acclimation box is also clear on bottom and I read that it should be white. I will have to fix that for next time.

The blue flasher found a way over by the yellow fin through a small gap and they are swimming together with no signs of aggression.

The blue just ate some mysis but the yellow showed no sign of interest. Like you said thou stressed out he might not be interested in food.

The Royal flasher in the tank has discovered them and checks them out every once in awhile but is not flashing or attacking acclimation box. Thanks for your help
