The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

A small dedicated tank to a 6 line is the only way I would ever have one. Too many horror stories about them for my tastes.
It's a good frag tank fish too.

Rhomboid stays smaller and is more peaceful.

That’s kinda where I was leaning towards..? Would you go male or female with the hopes of it changing into a nice super male?

Have you herd of any recent issues with them..? I read a couple post from a while back where people were having issues with swim bladder from how they were being caught?

I would go female and wait for the transition. I haven't noticed any issues.

Agree, and things seem to be pretty straightened out now with collection the past couple years.

Got a new resident hanging out in the acclimation box. He and the McCoskers are, of course, showing off to each other...

Thanks @Greenstreet.1 !

@evolved and @eatbreakfast.
Is it ok if I add a Halichoeres melasmapomus will it play nice with my bluestar and ornate leopard ? I plan on adding one more bluestar, choati and a regular leopard M.meleagris.
A melasmapomus should be fine with the leopards.

I saw this while surfing. This was an old listing from 2012. Wonder who bought this and how did this stunning pair do in their new home? How they are today?

Nice! Its a great addition to any reef! Plus you get to watch her transition.

Looking forward to seeing her transition also! It’s the first wrasse besides my leopard I have bought that was not already a male! Thanks
Spencer
Yeah I think it is the best to buy females or young males and others here will agree. Good luck!
