The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

It's either Cirrhilabrus rubeus or C. joanallenae. Are the ventral fins red or black?
2nd reply: Now with the lights on and a little cooperation from the fish, I had a good look. Its ventral and anal fins are black. That means it’s a C. Joanallenae...
Thanks again.

@HairyGary Not me, but I would have if they had lasted long enough for me to see them! :p
You can clink on the link in the DD update email after they are all listed to see when they are sold. Most are one minute prior or at posting time, which i dont understand how fast people can purchase!

Regardless they have come down to 599 compared to early this year.

Would These 2 Wrasse go with a Red Head Solon Fairy & a Melanarus?
Pseudocheilinus evanidus
Paracheilinus carpenteri

The Carpenter's flasher should be just fine (use an acclimation box), but the Pseudocheilinus wrasses tend to be pretty cranky kids who don't play well with other wrasses. My tendency would be to stay away from them entirely, but the real pros may have other opinions.

What about this one instead?

Super stoked. I get a pic from my LFS ( Aquatic Collections ) of 2 Potters Wrasses. I get there within minutes to grab them both. Both eating frozen and live. So far so good. It’s been a good 2 years trying to get these guys. With this type of fish I wanted to see them in person

Johnson's wrasse transitioned from a 1" female to a 2-1/2" male in just 3 months. Biggest pig of a fish I have ever seen. Constantly hunting pods in the rocks and always first to the frozen feed.

Beautiful! Where did you find her/him?

This is one of my recent purchases from DD.
Great looking Cirribrus Brunneus. I fine he
likes to chase my Male Rhomboid and my C. Isosceles.

These are my two most recent successfully added wrasses...the sailfin has been with us for a week, and the timorensis has been with us for about three months.

How is your sailfin behaving? Beautiful fish, but I had to remove mine. He was pretty nasty to some of my other wrasses. I hope you have better luck than I did.

He's the smallest wrasse in the tank. There's also a larger pink margin fairy in there, so the new guy's lowest in the hierarchy and pretty shy at present.

I really like the Timor Wrasse. I don’t see them that much. I’ve had mine for about 6 months

i'm kicking myself, i saw one at the lfs, but didn't know what it was. i actually thought it was a leopard wrasse. got home, got it id'ed on here and then looked up mature photos of it, went back to get it, gone.

oh well, i got a chrysus instead and she's super cute so i'm happy

I was at a friends house when I saw it for the time. Then when I saw it at the store I was all over it
