Beautiful Hemi and Flame! Trying not to be too jealous of the Hemi. How long have you had him.....I'm struggling to justify the expense given the short life expectancy of flashers. Just have a Carpenters, attenuatus and eightline flasher for now.

Rhomboids are in the same complex as lineatus and pink margin fairies. The one I kept in the past was much more demure than those two. If you have a large tank and decide to try more than one of those three I would definitely add the rhomboid first.

@MIKE NY
Short Flash of a brilliant fish
That is too bad. I hope mine will last longer, but mine also was only less than an inch when I got her.
How bid did your DT reach in term of lenght?

So i have a colonial hydroid issue and dosed 2 mg/gal of thomas labs fishbendazole to my DT, there is a long thread about this working and it did kill ~70% of my hydroids with out any coral issue minus one STN on SPS. I did remove all of my snails (trocus and turbos)

Whats interesting is i have praziquantel my DT a few times usually once a year, and i have a Cirrhilabrus cf cyanopleura Rubyhead that has always hid under my rocks, almost to the point i though he was getting picked on not parasites since he has seen a few praziquantel treatments followed by a second one a week later. He is a large terminal male (bigger than my lineatus) and i have had him 5 years +. Well day two after the fishbendazole treatment he was full of life! Now a week later i plan on doing my second treatment to kill any hatches parasites and kill off the rest of my hydroids and the wrasse is doing amazing, no hiding and out a bunch.

I found this an interesting observation and wonder if in the future we can use this for praziquantel resistant wrasse parasites).

My understanding is a mystery wrasse in a small tank with other wrasses may end with the mystery killing them. They are not peaceful towards other wrasse.

Not sure if this helps anyone but I am listing my wrasses from dominant to passive
Diamond Tail flashes mostly in the night
Flame started flashing last night. He was flashing on the left of the tank while diamond was on the right. It caught the DT by surprise when they met in the middle
Eight Line he knows when to hit the rocks when the other two start to raise heck
Black Leopards do not bother anyone and rarely get chased by DT
Yellowfin was king over the pintail until the others where added. Now he gets chased.
Pintail just wants to be left alone. If I could catch him I would put him back in my office tank.
When I picked my wrasses I got them because they listed as friendly, I guess like other things in this hobby, nothing is guaranteed?

In my tank, the Rubyhead fairly is king. Everybody else is all in a pack but the immersing dominant wrasse is the Redfin, and likely the Diamond Tail. The Diamond tail male is tiny compare to other wrasses but he is already flashing at the other wrasses until they go after him, then he just dart away. When he get some size, I am sure he will hold his ground.
This happen with my Redfin. Initially being on the smaller side an brand new, he yield for the first 24 hr. The next day he would not. Some slight fight were resulted, his fine were torn. All healed and he is now the second boss of the tank. He is flashing all late afternoon, and courting the female Redfin, and chasing other wrasses.

I have two Meleagris Leopard, female and juvenile, and one male Black Leopard.Anybody knw if my larger Meleagris Leopard was to turn male, will there be peace between the two male leopard? I don't think they are in the same clade, and don't really look a like at all. Any opinion?

In a large enough tank they should be OK. Maybe some initial bickering during the change and afterward for dominance, but my black is the most peaceful of my Leopards. On the other hand my Ornate was a bully and wasn’t happy when my Melagris and Blue star turned. It took awhile in an acclimation box before the aggression subsided down to a little bickering. Hopefully one turns for you...
