@Fishfreak2009 what depth sand do I need for a pair of jawfish? Or could I use PVC pipe?
It depends on the species IMO,

Really you want enough sand to cover the whole fish (for a Yellow head this is 2 inches and for a blue spot it’s 4 inches).

Snail killer you say? How about this guy? 10 minutes into the tank and he enjoyed a Turbo snail... pulled the operculum open and devoured it...

Yellow is definitely the one I want. One of my favorite fish in Roatan. Thinking I want a pair but I assume they are impossible to sex

Not too bad to sex, if you can look at a group at once. Females are a bit smaller, a little less bulky in the head.

Behavior wise, with a group, they pair off pretty well, at least my pair did. They regularly face off with the lone male, keeping him on his half of the tank. The pair has a burrow entrance that faces the lone male, and they always come out open-mouthed at each other, and spit sand at each other's burrow entrances.

Also I’m looking after horses today and tomorrow. Don’t know what I’m doing. Where do you clip the nori? How many cubes of mysis do they need per day? Do they need a sand bed?

Rinse the mysis so you don't pollute the meadow as much.

Finally finished building my sister her dream redneck wedding. It’s cheap, it’s janky, and someone may be killed but it could look worse. Can go back to tank stuff soon!

Major breakthrough! I managed to enter an LFS and leave without buying anything!

Anyway updates. I got the new AI lenses but left my drill with the only fitting drill bits at my sisters.

Finally question: what do I do with this birdsnest. On one hand it’s losing polyps and showing skeleton. On the other hand it’s already attached to the rock on two separate points. I’m confused. Is some of it getting too much par but the lower bits are happy? It’s getting like 450 par.

AI Primes... You'd think they'd have figured out how to make their lights stay solid by now.
If they don’t break every couple years then people won’t need to buy new lights. Unfortunately for them I don’t think I’ll buy another AI light.

You can snap those branches off and reglue them elsewhere. Mine have a couple of "burnt" areas from dinos. The Birdsnest is continuing to grow but those points and spots are just bare.
