We had a rental car. It is the "Big Island". As far as prices for lodging, my parents paid, but what we looked at was pricey for sure. I think it was right around $10,000 for round trip airfare, hotel stay for 7 nights, and the rental car.

I think this is going to cost me double Roatan despite the flight costing the same. Even diving costs are about double. Lodging is like triple and I did not rent a car in roatan as taxis were dirt cheap

There's likely Uber and stuff, we just never looked.

With how far apart things are it might be simpler to rent. If I want to go cheap I could use points to stay at a hotel for a couple of nights. Then there is very cheap clamping up north. Then fill out the rest with cheap B&Bs.
