There's something fishy about this build...

Felicia is pished. While I was away about a month ago, her tank crashed. It was overrun by cyao, dinos and aiptasia. I lost every RFA in the tank and came home to a sludgy mess. The zoas and leather are recovering and 1 mini maxi lived.
Jello is good. Again, came home to a bit of dinos. Everyone in there is ok, corals included, just a little annoyed.
Maintenance has been pushed off bc my dad died unexpectedly, and a week from tomorrow was his funeral.

Dealing with some other extremely serious issues IRL and haven't had time or mental capacity to come on.
This year hasn't been kind and the tanks aren't priority at the moment.

Tomorrow should be awesome! Some old friends/co-workers are in town and another incredible and awesome friend is showing us around the Georgia aquarium! Can't wait to see the coral wall. Its crazy how that tank quickly became my favorite when I got into the hobby.

Peanut butter. Use peanut butter on traps and set them along the walls. They love peanut butter.

X2 on peanut butter. This stuff works well. Alternatively you can treat it like reef tank pests.. control, diversify, outcompete. Control food sources, entry points, water sources. Diversify your pet population to outcompete the rats for the habitat. You have a cat and 2 parrots,, right? Get 2 more cats to establish a breeding population of farel cats. about 10 black racers released within the building, 1 coyote, and a red tail hawk. Guaranteed results..

Black rat and eastern king, they eat rats and are cuddly. Probably the two cuddliest snakes of the east, right @Anna K ?

Also they eat larger prey like rats. Racers are too timid and not fun to cuddle.

They are intended to be free range within the building. Needs to be something people aren't scared of, or somebody might call animal control on 1st sight.. but I'm sure they're better options than the black racer. Stupid black racer.

I'm just saying you want a snake you can cuddle with at the end of the day.

The rats are in the ceiling. They scurry across the top and occasionally fall from the sky and cause mass hysteria.

I don’t work in that area, but we are connected to it. We only had 1 rat which I trapped, but the other place has rats by the dozens. lol

It’s an old building.

If it was me, I'd personally release several rat snakes or king snakes into the ceiling and let them do gods work. However, glue traps would be the most efficient way if we're talking like 3 - 5lb rats. If they are bigger than that, you'll actually need to call an exterminator. Larger rats can actually eat through the glue and poison you by at stores without issue. You could also get an office cat or two, if that's a route. @Miami Reef

You could also make a post in a local herp group on fb near you, and ask if any herpers would like to come catch some rats in an old office building to keep. You'll have like a dozen or so weirdos at your office building in no time. Just mention the possibility of a "snake" as well for a reward. Florida herpers are another breed
